Fandango has announced that during Labor Day weekend, cinemas will be showing a recut of Spider-Man: No Way Home titled Spider-Man: No Way Home – The More Fun Stuff Version, which adds 11 minutes of additional material to the original film. This news comes a few months after the re-release was first announced, with additional regions having only been revealed a few weeks prior.
Both extended and deleted sequences that were trimmed from the December 2017 theatrical cut and the April 2018 Blu-ray and DVD releases will be included in the More Fun Stuff edition of the film. On Tuesday, August 23rd, tickets for the More Fun Stuff edition will go on sale. Sony Pictures’ No Way Home was a smashing hit at the box office and among critics. According to Box Office Mojo, No Way Home has earned $804,793,477 in the United States and $1,901,232,550 globally, placing it third in domestic gross history and sixth in international gross history, respectively.
The film was well received by both reviewers (it has a 93% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes) and moviegoers (it has a 98% approval rating). The multiverse played a crucial role in No Way Home, as it allowed for the on-screen reunion of Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland as Spider-Man from three different periods. But the film also included villains, like as Norman Osborn (Willem Dafoe), Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina), the Lizard (Rhys Ifans), Sandman (Thomas Haden Church), and Electro (Jameson McAvoy) (Jamie Foxx).
MJ (Zendaya), Ned (Jacob Batalon), and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) all returned from Jon Watts’ Spider-Man movie, while Wong (Tony Leung) also made an appearance (Benedict Wong). After the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter (Holland) tries to clear his identity in No Way Home.
After consulting Doctor Strange, the portal to the multiverse is opened, allowing the return of several previously absent characters. The extended edition of Spider-Man: No Way Home, titled simply “The More Fun Stuff Version,” will be released on September 2, and it will have 11 minutes of all-new material.
