On Thursday night, much to the delight of readers, the scanlations for One Piece Chapter 1057 were finally made available online. This chapter is significant for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that it closes the long-awaited Wano arc of the series. While the Wano arc has been divisive, readers of One Piece Chapter 1057 seem to have come together to celebrate its end. Most readers are eager to find out what happens after Chapter 1057 of One Piece, regardless of how they felt about the Wano arc as a whole.
Celebrations and farewells fill One Piece Chapter 1057
The events of Chapter 1057 of One Piece take place in the Flower Capital, where locals are gathered to witness a performance about the Onigashima Raid. The new school instructor from Chapter 1052 appears on stage, accompanied by a Geisha and surrounded by props emblazoned with the Kozuki insignia. People in the audience start yelling, “The Red Scabbards!” as the instructor begins her account of what happened the night of the Fire Festival. In Chapter 1057 of One Piece, we are suddenly transported to a forest close to Tokage Port in Udon, where Momonosuke is racing through the foliage while carrying Yamato and Kin’emon on his back in dragon form. Yamato had previously informed Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hats that they do not intend to embark on a sea voyage.
They begin to wonder if they are actually welcome here after Kin’emon asks if they are satisfied with their choice. He reassures Kin’emon that they are welcome, but that Yamato has lately stated that they have already decided. Yamato adds that they plan to replicate Oden’s voyage by touring Wano since, like him, they don’t fully comprehend the world. They reason that if they keep following in Oden’s footsteps, they will reach the ocean in due time. Momonosuke, however, can’t believe Yamato told the Straw Hats anything and has decided that he and Kin’emon were purposely neglected. This sets off a chain of memories for the new shogun of Wano, including his capture by Kaido atop Kozuki castle, his subsequent battle with Luffy, and his prominent role in the Onigashima Raid. After everything they’ve gone through together, he finds himself back in the current day wondering if Luffy is cruel.
He comes to the realisation that he was incorrect about Luffy, claiming that the pirate equates “freedom” with “freedom to be unpleasant.” Momo and Kin’emon believe that Luffy should be punished for his disrespect to the shogun by having him cleaved in two, but Yamato thinks they’re going overboard.
New ground for familiar faces, as shown in Chapter 1057 of One Piece
Meanwhile, in Chapter 1057 of One Piece, the three captains are packing up to go, with each one promising that the next time they meet, it will be as foes. Just as they were ready to depart, Momonosuke and his party show up, with the shogun immediately reverting to human form and charging Luffy. Kin’emon interrupts to interrogate Luffy, demanding an explanation for allegedly leaving his two longest-standing Wano pals without so much as a word of warning. He continues by saying that the shogun was furious about this. Momonosuke interjects with an edict, asking that he and the crew stay put since leaving would make him lonely and he wants to be with them forever, and Luffy asks what the problem is since they’re meeting now before his departure. Then Momonosuke goes on to claim that Luffy was the only reason he was able to make it through the New World alive and that the captain is the reason he is able to laugh again.
To which he replies, “Thank you for avenging my parents,” and adds that he is so terrified of what comes next that he has no words left. Zoro comments on what a sad sight it is, and Nami points out that Momonosuke is still a child at heart. While this is going on, Luffy shouts at Usopp, who responds by hurling a massive black cloth at his captain and Momonosuke. To offer the Wano trio “this,” he explains that they waited for them at the dock. Luffy continues by noting that Momo’s tough man shonen act doesn’t work on him since he is aware of Momo’s true nature despite Momo’s physical superiority. Luffy considers him a little, weak dummy but says he regards him as a little brother before unveiling his present, a big Straw Hat merry Roger flag. He advises the shogun to peruse it during trying times to remind himself of his exploits at sea. If “any serious bad news comes knockin’,” Luffy says, “hang it somewhere in Wano and point to it,” meaning that an attack on Wano is an attack on the Straw Hats.
A sobbing When Momonosuke asks if this officially makes him a member of the crew, Luffy tells him that he, Kin’emon, and Yamato are always welcome to join the Straw Hats anytime they so want. When the Straw Hats and the others eventually leave Wano, he declares emphatically that he will not tolerate any weaklings on board and then orders Yamato to deal with the remaining two. In a heartwarming panel at the end of One Piece Chapter 1057, Momonosuke assures Kin’emon that he will one day be even better than Kozuki Oden. The retainer assures Momo that he would be there to support him if that time comes, and Yamato wonders aloud whether they are the subject of his conversation.
Wano’s final words in One Piece, Chapter 1057
One Piece Chapter 1057 then sends readers on board the Thousand Sunny, where Nami instructs them to set course for Hakumai as there’s a big port with an elevator to the sea. While Brook and Chopper are relieved to not have to take the route down the waterfall, Kid makes fun of them for taking the “safe and sound way” down. Evidently, this irritates Luffy and Law, as their respective crews try to force their captains to maintain the elevator plan for Hakumai Port. As expected, this convincing fails, and the following image has the Thousand Sunny, Polar Tang, and Victoria Punk hurtling down Wano’s waterfalls for the ocean. The outlaws Momo and Kin’emon recruited were “similar to real-life Wisdom Kings,” the narrator says. To continue, they say that their might crashed down like a wrathful tsunami, destroying everything in its path, including “Kaido, the Dragon King” and the “yokai possessed huge oiran,” by which they most likely mean Big Mom.
Before returning to the theatre for Chapter 1057 of One Piece, the narrator says, “The heavens themselves were ripped as terrible shrieks resonated throughout the air.” The educator is telling the story of Orochi’s final stand against Hiyori in an effort to obtain any measure of retribution he can against the Kozuki.
The educator continues by saying that Denjiro rescued Hiyori at the last second and that soon after, both Onigashima and Kaido were destroyed. The light, he continues, had broken through the clouds that had been smothering Wano, and the sky was now clear. He goes on to say that as Onigashima plummeted, the ashes of Orochi spoke, proclaiming that the Kurozumi family’s resentment would forever damn Wano. Hiyori shoved Denjiro out of the way as she stood in front of Orochi, her fan raised and the Kozuki crest shown with pride.
Audience members are becoming crazy with excitement; they’ve been waiting for Hiyori to speak for a long time. The instructor reminds the class that “their name means charcoal,” and then has them all recite Hiyori’s line, “the Kurozumi was born to burn.”
The crowd goes wild as Geisha play their shamisens and Hiyori grins for the camera. Meanwhile, the educator starts talking about what came following the liberation of Wano, when people could finally put down their weapons and end their feuds. After the narrator concludes today’s account of Wano’s famous samurai in One Piece Chapter 1057, a picture of Momonosuke and his many followers is shown. The narrator is ecstatic to see the samurai back in the Flower Capital, and he suggests that Momonosuke, Kin’emon, and Yamato take a rest. With Momo’s inquiry on were to hoist the new banner, One Piece Chapter 1057 brings the curtain down on Wano’s third act and the Wano arc overall. There appears to be no break for next week as indicated in One Piece Chapter 1057, despite the narrator’s final comments implying otherwise.
