The casting process for Season 4 of Sex Education has begun shooting. The cast of the Netflix original series will expand by seven, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Dan Levy, star of Schitt’s Creek, is the most prominent. He will play Thomas Molloy, Maeve’s American instructor at an exclusive university, in regular guest appearances. Thaddea Graham, Marie Reuther, and newcomers Alexandra James, Anthony Lexa, Felix Mufti, and Imani Yahshua appear on the show as regulars as well. In addition to the cast announcement, Netflix also released some sneak peek photos from Season 2.
The third-season couple of Otis (Asa Butterfield) and Ruby (Mimi Keene) is reuniting in this one. The other two pictures warmly welcome Levy to the action by showing him with the show’s slate and starring Emma Mackey as Maeve. The images also offer a sneak peek at the series’ upcoming fourth season, which will take place on a college campus. In Sex Education, Gillian Anderson plays Otis’s mother, Jean, a sex therapist who doesn’t assist her son’s socially awkward adolescence. But after unintentionally helping a stranger, he and Maeve decide to open a sex therapy clinic at Moordale Secondary.
In Season 3, the clinic is taken over, and Moordale is sold to developers, displacing its students. The fourth season will focus on Otis, Eric (Ncuti Gatwa), and the rest of the gang as they establish Cavendish Sixth Form College without Maeve. Otis intends to keep running his clinic, and he and Eric are taking precautions to make sure they don’t suffer any social consequences. As opposed to Moordale, where “daily yoga in the communal garden,” “a strong sustainability vibe,” and “a group of youngsters who are popular for being… kind?” are commonplace, they find that Cavendish is a very different place altogether.
Otis, meantime, continues to pine for Maeve even as she begins her new degree in the United States at Wallace University. It’s not just Jean who has to adjust to a new family dynamic; Otis has to welcome a newborn into the fold as well. Laurie Nunn is the creator, executive producer, and showrunner for Sex Education. The series is produced by Eleven Productions and will air on Netflix. Executive producers are Jamie Campbell and Ben Taylor. Aimee-Lou Wood (Aimee), Connor Swindells (Adam), Kedar Williams-Stirling (Jackson), George Robinson (Isaac), Chinenye Ezeudu (Vivienne), Dua Saleh (Cal), Alistair Petrie (Michael), and Samantha Spiro (Samantha) are also among the returning cast members (Maureen). Season 4 of Sex Education has yet to get a premiere date. Seasons 1-3 are currently available on Netflix for your viewing pleasure. c
