Season 1 of Euphoria debuted in 2019, and Season 2 premiered on HBO earlier this year, so fans are no strangers to long waits. Season 3 of HBO’s dark and trippy drama about a high school class’s struggles with drug and alcohol abuse and emotional dependence appears to be in the far future. To ensure that fans of Euphoria don’t go hungry and to give them a reason to grin, HBO has published a new official blooper reel from the set of Season 2. The YouTube channel for Euphoria features a hilarious comedy clip that highlights a lighter side to the often heavy-handed drama. Given the emotional depths that were explored in the show’s second season, the humour is welcome.
Angus Cloud giving Maude Apatow his real phone number, Zendaya being stuck in a garbage can, and Hunter Schafer not getting into the Brokeback Mountain mood are among highlights from the blooper video. The short film, clocking up at just over four minutes, provides peeks into the slip-ups and mistakes that occurred during some highly difficult occasions. Jacob Elordi and Sydney Sweeney, two of the show’s mainstays, also make appearances in the highlight reel.
The new video published today also provides an opportunity to think back on Season 2’s events and be ready for possibly major changes in Season 3. In a recent interview, series actor and executive producer Zendaya dropped hints that the third season would move the characters to a new setting, perhaps even beyond high school. What that means for Rue, just soberized by Zendaya, and for Cassie Howard, broken by Sweeney, nobody knows. And do we have much hope for Nate Jacobs’s further education prospects?
That’s not very likely. No matter what happens, there will be plenty of time to guess about the future of the series’ extremely disorganised cast of characters. Sam Levinson, who also works as executive producer on Euphoria, is the show’s creator, writer, and creator. Drake, Future the Prince, Ravi Nandan, Kevin Turen, Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, Ron Leshem, Daphna Levin, Tmira Yardeni, Mirit Toovi, Yoram Mokady, Gary Lennon, and Jim Kleverweis are among the many other executive producers. This show is based on an original Israeli series of the same name and is produced in association with A24.
