Trailer for the Action-Packed Spanish-Language Series “Garcia!” on HBO, Release Date, Cast & Synopsis & More

Garcia!, a new HBO Max Original, is sure to pique the curiosity of viewers who need more adrenaline-pumping drama. The first trailer for the adrenaline-pumping drama based on the novel by Santiago Garcia and Luis Bustos has been released by HBO. The teaser shows the cryogenically frozen super-agent Garcia (Francisco Ortiz) waking up in a world very different from the one he had closed his eyes on, complete with files, images, and a strange room. He is so much more than just a dude.

The teaser begins with the terrifying warning, “He is a prodigy,” to those who are determined to halt a humanoid wrecking machine. Antonia (Veki Velilla), an inquisitive journalist, is introduced to us with Garcia. She is the type of person whose mind people don’t want to let near their secrets. The ideal soldier was awoken by the reporter, and now the two of them are trying to figure out how to operate together. Despite the confusion that would accompany waking up after sixty years (did someone say Steve Rogers? ), Garcia’s sense of duty to his nation will trump that confusion as he embarks on a quest to save his beloved Spain, albeit a different one than he remembers, from the grasp of an aspiring brutal dictator.

Antonia and Garcia have an uphill battle to expose dark plots and save a stumbling democracy, but having a superhuman soldier on their side who can hold his own in a fight of any intensity helps even the playing field. The character Garcia, who was fabricated in the 1950s at the behest of General Francisco Franco’s secret agency, will be the focus of an upcoming HBO Max Original. As he strives to crush the hopes of any would-be Spanish caudillo, he is the model soldier, designed to do as he is told without question. A soldier who blindly follows orders while fighting to overthrow a would-be dictator and protect democracy contains an underlying irony.

After making its debut in Europe in Sitges, the series will have its world premiere at Austin’s Fantastic Fest in September. The show Garcia! was conceived by Sara Antua and Carlos de Pando. Eugenio Mira helms all six episodes of the series, and executive produces Miguel Salvat, Steve Matthews, and Antony Root. Ortiz and Velilla are joined in the cast by Emilio GutiĆ©rrez Caba, Francisco Reyes, Nico Romero, Helio Pedregal, Mario Pardo, Miki Molina, Marina Gatell, Pepe Ocio, and Silvia Abascal. In October, HBO Max will begin streaming Garcia!
