The studio behind the famous anime series Black Clover, Studio Pierrot, has announced not just season 5 but also a feature to be released in 2022. However, unlike the film, the fifth season of Black Clover won’t be available to viewers until at least 2024. The fundamental cause of the holdup is the existing manga’s sparse material (which is ongoing). Before the 5th season of the high-fantasy anime series can continue, writer and mangaka Yki Tabata needs time to add on to, and maybe finish, the Black Clover manga.
Because of this, Season 4 only featured 16 episodes instead of the usual 50. We know that the news that the Black Clover anime (which originally exploded on TV screens in 2017) won’t please anyone, but we won’t leave you hanging either.
Character Growth and Plot Progression
At the end of Black Clover’s fourth season, when our protagonist Asta finally discovers the truth about the demon within her grimoire, viewers learned that Ayataka Tanemura had replaced Tatsuya Yoshihara as director and Kanichi Katou had taken over as chief writer in lieu of Kazuyuki Fudeyasu. In the last episode, he didn’t need any magic to get from the underworld to the surface world. This led to his being adopted by a woman named Lichita (or Richita), who gave him the name Liebe.
It is eventually discovered that this woman is indeed Asta’s birth mother. Lichita loses his life defending Liebe from the powerful Lucifero. Asta not only learns the demon’s history in the final Black Clover episode, but she also manages to defeat Liebe and make a friend out of him. As part of their efforts to keep the dead from crossing over, the Clover and Heart kingdoms have launched an attack on the Spade kingdom. The two partnered kingdoms strive to protect the barrier and free their captive citizens, including Princess Loropechika.
Assuming the anime stays true to the manga’s plot, the climactic showdown will happen in the next film. Following the completion of the battle, Asta and Liebe will likely reach a United Form, greatly enhancing their combat effectiveness. It’s conceivable that further details about Asta’s birth mother will emerge. Asta’s childhood buddy Yuno (Nobunaga Shimazaki) could talk to Langris about the Golden Dawn order. Finally, some supporters think the Spade Kingdom will launch a surprise invasion of the Clover Kingdom, striking before the alliance can act.
Such a turn of events might make for a dramatic storyline twist, but it would certainly end tragically. The aforementioned speculations about Black Clover season 5 are, however, based on very little more than rumours and assumptions due to the paucity of source material ahead of the anime chronology. It’s practically hard to predict what will happen next unless Tabata publishes additional chapters.
However, Noelle Silva, who played Asta’s potential love interest in Kana Yki, will very certainly return. But one thing is for sure. In the wake of the thrilling and action-packed conclusion to season 4 of the TV anime, there is little doubt that any further training arcs will be cut. The alliance & the Dark Triad of the Spade Kingdom are expected to engage in several conflicts during both the upcoming Black Clover film and season 5 of Black Clover. This will cause the series’ most intense and lethal confrontations to date.
That is a really interesting storyline, we agree. The anime version of Black Clover, however, has always been well-liked by fans because of the show’s excellent plot and stunning visuals. The final tease of Season 4 hinted at a major reveal that has people anticipating the next season. More ground will be covered in the next fifth season. Anime watchers have a long wait ahead of them before hearing any news. In 2022, we still don’t know when the next season of this anime will air.
Season 5 of Black Clover: What to Expect
One of the most watched anime ever, Black Clover by Yuki Tabata, keeps on providing. With so much exciting material being produced in the manga, the anime is sure to deliver thrilling showdowns. We’ve got you covered if you’re curious about the likely plot of Black Clover season 5. We performed some research, and here are some of the clues we found about the manga material that will be included in the fifth season. We now have a clear idea of which chapters are adapted with the publication of episode 170.
Black Clover has adapted 272 chapters of the manga after 170 episodes, which works out to an average of 1.6 chapters per episode. Also, the series was cut off at an awkward time.
There has been no announcement of a premiere date for Season 5 of Black Clover, although it can be assumed that the producers would like to have a healthy amount of material to work with. According to this, it will probably be some time before work on season five of the anime begins.
With 333 chapters completed thus far, the next season won’t likely premiere until late 2023 or early 2024 at the earliest. Not all is hopeless though! A new Black Clover movie is in the works for 2023, so fans won’t have to wait too long to see some fresh material. After Asta and Liebe fought to the bitter end in Season 4, the show abruptly ended on a cliffhanger. So, the dynamic between our MC and his demon friend will change. If Asta has more room to play with Liebe’s abilities, that might lead to some intriguing story possibilities.
The training Asta undergoes with Nacht and Liebe in preparation for the Spade Kingdom Raid storyline is exciting to witness. This is probably where the anime will pick up the tale again. Fans can readily connect with the Spade Kingdom Raid storyline because of the strong emphasis placed on setting the stage for the stakes and final showdowns in the many encounters. Since Tabata’s writing tends to be hastily put together, this is a welcome change. The rescue effort for Yami is a compelling story point that will keep viewers riveted to their screens, raising stakes and giving each member of the Black Bulls an opportunity to shine. In addition, the identity of Asta’s birth mother remains a mystery.
It will be intriguing to watch how the anime handles this, as it might end up becoming the film’s storyline. It’s wonderful to know that we’ve got a lot of intriguing stuff to see in the eventual return, even if the planned release date (or first trailer) for the next season and final arc seems far off. Considering how hard the anime production team has worked on the project, the wait is inevitable, no matter how frustrating it may be. Black Clover’s constancy is a pleasant surprise, as anime seldom manage to keep up with their manga.
