A new, powerful teaser for Peacock’s forthcoming series Last Light, which will debut on the streaming platform on September 8, 2022, has been revealed. The new teaser shows us a future in which a shortage of oil causes a series of catastrophes. Andy Yeats (Matthew Fox, Lost), a petro-chemist who studies the state of our nation’s oil supplies, will be the protagonist of Last Light. Andy’s greatest nightmares are coming true for him while he is on a business trip in the Middle East. Not only that, but this separation from his loved ones comes at a time of great significance for him and the world as a whole.
And now that his family is split up, each member will have to fend for themselves when natural calamities of various sizes strike the earth. His adolescent daughter Laura is currently spending time alone in London. While Elena and Sam are trapped in Paris, he remains in New York with his wife. The Yeats family as a whole faces an uphill battle to reunite. The novel by Alex Scarrow serves as the inspiration for the new TV show. The new teaser trailer provides a more in-depth look at what lies in store for the Yeats family, depicting in dramatic detail the calamities brought on by the oil supply’s inexplicable disruption.
Planes fall from the sky, automobiles crash into one other, and the globe is plunged into darkness, but Andy Yeats still goes to work to protect his loved ones and the planet. Joanne Froggatt, Alyth Ross, Taylor Fay, Amber Rose Revah, Victor Alli, Tom Wlaschiha, and Hakeem Jomah also feature in the show with Fox. Director Dennie Gordon stated, “Our thriller is presented against the backdrop of a family divided by world events,” in a statement released alongside the new video. Then, he said, “…I was delighted and happy to have Matthew Fox come out of retirement for this particular series.”
Gordon continued, expressing optimism for the reception of his new series that addresses climate change head-on: “I hope [viewers] will connect with Andy Yeats and his family, and we hope that this series will start the conversations we all might have about our dependency on oil and how to survive climate change.” Given that the new series doesn’t shirk worst-case scenarios, the new trailer is sure to encourage viewers to learn more about available electric and hybrid automobiles. And when climate change’s consequences appear to be becoming less speculative, Last Light may prove to be the timely wake-up call we need. On September 8, 2022, Peacock will begin airing the first episode of Last Light.
