The project just finished filming, hinting that it might be released early next year. During a tumultuous divorce, an eight-year-old boy is at the centre of a bitter custody battle between his parents. For as long as it has been known that Porter and Evans would lead, the broader storyline specifics of the film have been kept a secret.
Oliver, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Peter Nickowitz, who he collaborated with on his first feature film Jonathan as well as the short The Debutantes, has made his second feature picture behind the camera. To produce through Tigresa is Guilherme Coelho (Fala Tu) and Fernando Loureiro. Burton has been nominated for three Tony Awards and two Emmy Awards, including two nominations for guest roles on Grey’s Anatomy. In addition to her performances in Big Trouble in Little China and Unfaithful, she’s appeared in Inventing Anna and Bosche: Legacy on television, but her cinema credits include Big Trouble in Little China and Unfaithful.
With two Tony Awards and six Emmy nominations, including two for her breakout performance as Clair Huxtable in The Cosby Show and three for her role as Carol Clarke in This Is Us, Rashad has a wealth of experience to draw upon. Lastly, there’s Freeman and Powell, the former of whom is best known for roles in Atlanta, The Last O.G., and Luke Cage.
In recent years, she’s starred as Vivian Banks in the Bel-Air remake series. For her part, she has appeared in films by Spike Lee, including Inside Man and I Think I Love My Wife.
