New Images Show Johnny Depp Playing King Louis XV in ‘Jeanne Du Barry’ Cast, Release Date & Synopsis & More Details

According to Deadline, French filmmaker Mawenn Le Besco and producer Why Not Productions have unveiled a teaser photograph of actor Johnny Depp in costume for his part as King Louis XV in the forthcoming film Jeanne du Barry, a historical love story.
Following the real-life narrative of Jeanne du Barry, the final mistress of Louis XV, Jeanne Du Barry is the subject of this film. Du Barry moves from being a working-class lady to a prostitute and Louis’ favourite companion, all while living in terrible poverty.

Despite the chattering court’s displeasure, they fall in love and she relocates to Versailles. A young Johnny Depp made his name in the 1980s with roles in films such as The Thing from Another World and TV series like 21 Jump Street. In addition to his work with Tim Burton, he is most known for acting in Hunter S. Thompson’s 1971 cult masterpiece Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. After Amber Heard’s defamation trial, Johnny Depp is returning to the big screen with a feature film. Benjamin Lavernhe, Pierre Richard, Melvil Poupaud, Noémie Lvovsky, Pascal Greggory, and India Hair are all scheduled to appear alongside Depp in the film.

The film’s director and co-writer are Teddy Lussi-Modeste and Le Basco. Pascal Caucheteux and Grégoire Sorlat, co-founders of Why Not Productions, will serve as executive producers. In addition, IN2 and France Télévisions will create. According to Deadline, filming for Jeanne du Barry began on July 26 and lasted for 11 weeks, with shooting taking place in several sites throughout Paris, including Versailles, as well as at the studio.
Actress Le Besco got her start in the business as a child star in France.

In her one-woman performance, Le Pois Chiche (The Chickpea) and I’m an Actor, she recounted her experiences as a young actress under the constant scrutiny of the industry. In the 1987 film L’été meurtrier, she had her breakout performance (One Deadly Summer). In Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element, she played the blue opera diva Diva Plavalaguna, a role that made her a household name with moviegoers around the world. The courtesan’s relationship with the French monarch will be interesting to see in this historical drama. Le Besco’s abilities as an actor and a director may now be seen more widely.
