Apple TV+ announced today that Jon Hamm would join the cast of The Morning Show for Season 3. As a new showrunner assumes the helm of The Morning Show, Jon Hamm is brought on board. For his role on Mad Men, which earned him an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2015, Hamm is well recognised. As an actor and producer on Mad Men, Hamm got 16 Emmy nominations, which should serve as a testament to his ability. Actor Jon Hamm’s career continued after Mad Men, with roles in popular shows including Legion and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
As a result, Hamm’s arrival on The Morning Show for Season 3 couldn’t come at a better moment. As a result of an internal reorganisation, Kerry Ehrin, the program’s creator and former showrunner, has decided to stand aside from her role as showrunner after two seasons of the show. Even if the original showrunner Ehrin is no longer involved, Charlotte Stoudt, the new showrunner, has already proven herself with her work on shows like Homeland and House of Cards. In spite of this, it’s comforting to know that Season 3 will bring in some new faces to help keep The Morning Show going. An investigation of the personal and professional lives of the show’s hosts, The Morning Show centres around the namesake morning news programme.
Alexandra “Alex” Levy, the show’s host, is played by Jennifer Aniston; Reese Witherspoon plays her co-host Bradley Jackson; and Billy Crudup portrays UBA’s CEO, Cory Ellison. Paul Marks, a corporate giant who has his sights set on UBA, will be played by actor Jon Hamm in Season 3. Marks enlists Cory, Alex, and Bradley in his corporate takeover scheme. Additionally, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell and Karen Pittman were part of the Season 2 cast, along with Bel Powley, Desean Terry, Janine Gavankar, Tom Irwin, Marcia Gay Harden, Ruairi O’Connor and Holland Taylor. Season 3’s first official cast member is Jon Hamm.
The Morning Show’s first two seasons are now available to stream on Apple TV+ throughout the world. Season 3’s release date has yet to be determined.
