According to Deadline, Alec Baldwin and Olga Kurylenko will play key roles in the forthcoming spy action thriller, Chief of Station. It’s a European story, and filming will get underway in Budapest in the latter part of this year. After discovering that his wife’s death wasn’t an accident, the former CIA Station Chief decides to investigate the case. He is compelled to rely on his abilities once more, this time working with a rogue agent to unearth a conspiracy theory that “challenges all he thought he understood.” Baldwin has had a long & distinguished career in the entertainment world.
Since his debut in 1980, he has been in a number of popular films and television shows, including Beetlejuice, The Departed, and 30 Rock, which garnered him several honours. Baldwin has also been on stage, starring in the 1992 production of A Streetcar Named Desire and earning a Tony Award nomination for his performance in an Off-Broadway production of Macbeth. It was her part in the Hitman film adaption that catapulted Ukrainian-French actress Olga Kurylenko into the public eye.
Her best-known performances are Bond Girl in Quantum of Solace, Taskmaster in Black Widow, and Maria Veniaminovna Yudina in The Death of Stalin. Chief of Station will be directed by Jesse V. Johnson and written by George Mahaffey. So who better to bring this new thriller to life than Johnson, whose portfolio is full of action flicks like White Elephant, Avenger, Triple Threat and Mission Impossible 3 starring Scott Adkins, along with Planet of the Apes and Total Recall, among others. According to Johnson, working with Baldwin and Kurylenko was a “great experience.”
This epic action adventure with one of the true legends of cinema, Alec and Olga, will undoubtedly provide some on-screen magic. She’s a force of nature. Having worked together on Hulu’s The Princess, this will be Kurylenko and Johnson’s second project together. For Bee Holder Productions and Concourse Media, Steve Lee Jones will serve as producer and Matthew Shredder will serve as executive producer and supervise international rights. With regard to action flicks, Jones told Deadline that Johnson has a lot of expertise in this area.
Alec will return to the classic films that made him a screen icon, and Olga will add the sizzle that will make this a must-see thriller, as Jesse continues to deliver fun escapist fare that rocks on all cylinders. We are super excited to team up with Alec and Olga on this elevated and layered international picture. The picture has a bright future because of the abilities of these two actors. Those who enjoy spy thrillers will be keen to discover what this flick has to offer. co
