To commemorate the premiere of Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Prime Video has published a new behind-the-scenes movie featuring the actors and crew of the film. To learn more about the epic tale of The Rings of Power, set hundreds of years before Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, showrunners Patrick McKay and JD Payne appear in the featurette. The Second Age of Middle-Earth is brought to life in The Rings of Power, in which the mythical Rings of Power were fashioned, Sauron came to power, and elves and men banded together to battle evil and prevent the country from falling into darkness.
Filmmaker John McKay adds that “the Second Age is the great unfilmable narrative in Tolkien’s entire legendarium, which is why we decided to tell that story in this film.” Seeing these stories on Prime Video will be fascinating, especially since we’ll learn more about the backstories of some of our favourite characters. Galadriel, the future queen of Lothlórien, is a major character in The Rings of Power.
As Galadriel, Cate Blanchett portrayed the elf queen in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but Morfydd Clark will play a younger and less wise version of her in the next series. Regarding the journey of her character, Clark noted in the video that “Galadriel has been looking for this elusive, unknown, very real evil for more than 1,000 years. In the end, she is aware of the danger and the necessity of putting an end to this evil.” As for Galadriel’s narrative, Payne stated that “from the outset, we realised she couldn’t accomplish this alone.'” There is no decent mission without a companion.” So Galadriel will not have to fight evil alone, as soldiers from many races will come to her help.
The featurette shows us action-packed battles between Hobbits, Dwarves, Elves, and Humans. Even though orcs and trolls are not new opponents in The Rings of Power, we do get fresh footage of them in the latest trailer. There are also a number of other actors in the cast for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, such as Benjamin Walker, Charles Edwards and Charlie Vickers. Nazanin Boniadi and Tyroe Muhafidin are also in the cast of the epic. Maxim Baldry and Cynthia Addai-Robinson are also in the cast. Beginning on Tuesday, September 2, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring will be available exclusively on Prime Video.
