The fifth season of Noah Hawley’s critically acclaimed FX series Fargo will begin filming this autumn. The revelation was made during the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, which is now taking place, and subsequently tweeted to the general public.
Its stories of wealth, criminality, scandal and simple stupidity are all connected to Fargo, North Dakota, the setting for the iconic Coen brother’s film of the same name. Each season has a fresh group of characters and a new tale that takes place in and around the state of Minnesota.
Even in Fargo Season 5, the focus will be on kidnapping and whether or not the woman you think is your wife is truly yours, as was hinted at in the trailer. As far as we know, the fifth season will include newcomers Juno Temple, Jon Hamm, and Jennifer Jason Leigh in the lead roles. In their separate roles as Dot, Roy, and Lorraine, the all-star trio will be on display. On Twitter, Decider Editor-in-Chief Alex Zalben wrote: “FARGO begins production this autumn, and Noah Hawley has handed ALL screenplays for his ALIEN series, which begins production next year #TCA22.”
With a past ensemble that included famous celebrities like Martin Freeman, Billy Bob Thornton, Kristen Dunst, and Chris Rock, the popular series has won virtually unanimous acclaim throughout the years. Season 5 of Fargo will be produced by Hawley’s 26 Keys, and he also serves as a director, writer, and executive producer on the show. Along with Joel Coen, Ethan Coen, and Steve Stark of Toluca Pictures, as well as Kim Todd and Vincent Landay, Warren Littlefield and The Littlefield Company will serve as executive producers.
MGM Television and FX Productions collaborate on Fargo. MGM Television is the main studio behind the production, and they are also in charge of distributing the series worldwide.
Fargo’s fifth season has yet to be announced in terms of release date or trailer. Seasons 1 through 4 is already available to view on Hulu in advance of the series’ fifth episode, so fans can get a head start on what has been happening in Fargo, North Dakota.
