In which Mikey continues to recount his history in the form of flashbacks, Tokyo Revengers continues with the story that began in chapter 264. The death of Mikey’s brother, Shinichiro, is the focus of this chapter. During the flashback, the story of Mikey’s gradual transformation into a cruel killer is told. Takemichi and Kisaki make their first appearance in Mikey’s life in Tokyo Revengers chapter 264, where the story returns to where it began. Mikey’s impulsiveness isn’t rooted in his terrible history, as some readers suspected; rather, it stems from his distorted view of strength, which no one had attempted to fix before he met Takemichi.
This chapter depicts Mikey’s saddest birthday and the emergence of his “Hero” in Tokyo Revengers 264 “Not Only the Force but Also” is the subtitle of Tokyo Revengers chapter 264. Back in sixth grade, Mikey is introduced in the first paragraph of the chapter. On the day when Draken was meant to present Mitsuya to the rest of Toman, he stopped by the Sano residence instead. After meeting Emma at the home, Draken’s sweet and helpful demeanour won her over, despite his frightening looks. On to the temple where Mikey and Baji met Mitsuya, readers are escorted.
As Mikey recounts, he founded Toman with the help of Baji, Draken, Kazutora, Pah-chin, and Mitsuya, all of whom he thought powerful. Shinichiro was slain on his birthday, and everything had been going well until then. Despite the death of his brother, Mikey refused to weep in public and remained in a hospital restroom until he had stopped. In an attempt to live up to Shinichiro’s legacy, he offered to expand the gang’s ranks and become a full-fledged delinquent gang after the burial. Draken recognised Mikey’s desire to preserve the heritage of Shinichiro.
Finally, Chifuyu Matsuno appears in Tokyo Revengers chapter 264 as an important character in the group, with the Kawata twins Hakkai Shiba and Peh-Yan. Haruchiyo is shown in the same pose as when the reader originally encountered him. The cliffside incident from Draken’s recollection from chapter 223 follows, in which they promised to conquer the entire country in the process. Mikey met two lads later that year, Takemichi Hanagaki and Kisaki Tetta, who he refers to as “The two that changed my fate.”
Observations
While the initial encounter between Draken and Emma and Mikey’s views on his gangmates was both touching and heartbreaking in Tokyo Revengers chapter 264, three major flaws stood out. Mikey’s dependence on Draken is immediately apparent to the reader. He appears to know Mikey the best, despite meeting him later than Baji or Haruchiyo. Draken, on the other hand, was called “Mikey’s Heart” because of Mikey’s closeness to him. Readers have remarked that Haruchiyo’s declaration of Mikey as his monarch may have caused him some resentment.
The absence of Haruchiyo from Toman’s founding group is also notable. While Baji was Mikey’s boyhood buddy, it wasn’t addressed in the narration. He has been as close to Mikey as Baji was. Toman was dominated by Mikey and his five cronies, he claims. This, along with the fact that Mikey requested Mucho to look after Haruchiyo after Tokyo Manji Kai was created, suggests that Mikey and Haruchiyo had a disagreement. However, a less widely accepted argument proposes that Mikey’s concept of strength plays a role here as well. We’ve watched Mikey get fixated on the concept of strength during the flashback.
In Tokyo Revengers chapter 264, he expresses his fondness for powerful men, a sentiment sparked by his encounter with Draken. It’s interesting that Haruchiyo isn’t in this group of powerful men. Mikey and Haruchiyo probably fell out because he stopped seeing Haruchiyo as strong at some time.
The last words
The new episode of Tokyo Revengers aims to expand on Mikey’s concept of power. Kisaki and Takemichi appeared at the end of the chapter. It’s notable that Mikey regards them both as crucial to his future. Mikey’s view of change is altered in two separate ways by Kisaki and Takemichi’s depiction of power, which is intriguing. The following chapter should provide readers with a new perspective on the story. Following chapter 264 of Tokyo Revengers, an editor’s note informs readers of a color spread in the next chapter’s 26 pages. The English translation of Tokyo Revengers Spin-off Chapter 2 is now available for readers’ convenience.
