Chris Rock will narrate a new animated version of ‘Everybody Hates Chris.’ Release Date, Synopsis, Cast & Everything you need to know

Chris Rock has returned to revisit his adolescent years. According to Deadline, the comedian’s autobiographical sitcom Everbody Hates Chris will be animated for MTV Entertainment and relaunched. Chris Rock will reprise his narrator and executive producer roles in a new series titled Everybody Still Hates Chris, which will air on Comedy Central and Paramount+. CBS Studios and 3 Arts Entertainment, which previously worked together on Chris Rock’s original sitcom, are reuniting for this project as well. Each and everyone despises During Rock’s adolescent years in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, Chris aired between UPN and then The CW and was based on Rock’s remembrance of the 1980s.

It featured Tyler James Williams as a young Rock, who had to contend with a chaotic home and an all-white school. With its lighthearted approach to important topics, the series was praised by critics and viewers alike. In addition to several NAACP Image Awards, it received three Emmy nominations during its tenure. Just over a year ago, it was announced that a remake was in the works, with Rock scheduled to return to the series as the narrator. CBS CEO George Cheeks commented in an official statement that it appears to capture the same charm in a new format: Remaking this revolutionary, highly acclaimed series has been a constant topic of conversation at our Studio for years. With Chris Rock’s hilarious talent and 3 Arts’ inventive new approach, it’s great to collaborate on this project.

Our partnership with Chris McCarthy and our friends at MTV Entertainment Studios to promote Paramount+ and Comedy Central’s signature programmes signals yet another big in-house cooperation for CBS. Showrunner Sanjay Shah (South Park, Central Park) and Ali LeRoi (Everybody Hates Chris), Rock’s former Everybody Hates Chris creative collaborator, will join him on the project. MTV Entertainment Studios’ Head of Adult Animation, Grant Gish, Michael Rotenberg and Dave Becky round out the executive producers.

In the words of Chris McCarthy, President/CEO of Paramount Media Networks & MTV Entertainment Studios: “Chris Rock is one of the most gifted comedians of all time, and we’re excited to partner with him, 3 Arts, and CBS Studios to bring this project to life and welcome it as the next big hit in our expanding arsenal of iconic adult animation.” Everbody Still Hates Chris is the latest addition to Paramount+’s animated lineup. While South Park will always remain the company’s crown jewel thanks to Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s megadeal, the company has also become increasingly nostalgic with its assets. Besides the aforementioned Beavis and Butthead relaunch and South Park, a Daria spin-off film dubbed Jodie is also in the works.
