Logan Lerman is arguably best known to moviegoers for his roles in Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson films, which were based on his novels of the same name. Before a third Percy Jackson film was cancelled, Lerman established himself as the series’ titular demigod hero in The Lightning Thief and Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Sea of Monsters.
However, the actress is thrilled that a new generation of fans will be able to experience the narrative thanks to Disney+’s revival of the series. During the premiere of his newest film, Bullet Train, the actor talked about the upcoming revived series with The Hollywood Reporter, expressing his enthusiasm that Riordan would be involved as well as the fact that Walker Scobell will reprise his role as the character he initially played: This is something I’ve been looking forward to for a long time. That Rick [Riordan] is running the show makes me delighted. “It makes me pleased for the fans, and I’m looking forward to this new generation seeing it.”
Lerman also rejected reports that he will make an appearance in the show. “It’s a good one, because, well, could you? It really simply depends on certain variables, but I’m not,” the actor revealed. The quality of the writing and the character in particular, but they didn’t talk to me about it. I don’t think they want me involved in this. By now, I’m sure I’d have heard something. Who gives a fig about it? We are thrilled that they are making it available. I can’t wait to watch what they do.” Actor Walker Scobell will feature in Disney’s Percy Jackson series alongside actresses like Leah Sava Jeffries and actor Aryan Simhadri.
Other cast members include Glynn Turman and actor Jason Mantzoukas as well as actresses Virginia Kull and Megan Mullally and actor Timm Sharp. Percy Jackson and the Olympians are yet to see a release date, but Riordan has said that the series is aiming for a Disney+ release in early 2024. Additionally, he has claimed that the series would remain faithful to the source material, something that critics have noted as a flaw in the previous film adaptations.
