David Leitch explored the prospect of a Nobody sequel in an exclusive interview for his next feature Bullet Train. Bob Odenkirk stars as a suburban dad who becomes a John Wick-caliber killing machine after two petty thieves break into his home. The film was a critical & public success and was an early indicator of a resurgence in the box office following the epidemic. With so much unexplored territory and the post-credits sequence implying that Hutch Mansell isn’t planning to quit the world of assassins anytime soon, it felt like a probable contender for a sequel. Leitch emphasised how much the original picture meant to everyone involved and how much joy it was to work on the movie with that cast and crew.
Furthermore, he highlighted the enthusiasm of everyone, including the studio behind it, to return with a prospective sequel to Hutch’s universe. He was not alone. His response was, “Oh, I believe everyone’s thrilled about it.” “Full throttle ahead,” everyone is saying. We’re now working on the script, and I think we had a lot of fun with it. Everything went well; Kelly and I had a great time, as did all of our co-stars; the studio was thrilled; and now, here we are! To put it another way, I believe it’s occurring as quickly as we can.”
Despite one’s best efforts, it isn’t always possible to bring a sequel to fruition. When questioned if the universe of Nobody will return to screens, Leitch showed his uttermost faith in the picture, putting any anxieties to rest. That’s correct,” he said. “There are certain trips that you take, and they’re simply indisputable experiences for the individuals involved. I believe that So, yes, it was a part of it. Everyone wants to go back and play in Bob’s world, and we want to see him bring that persona back to life.” It’s not only Leitch who fantasises about a sequel, though. We previously spoke with Derek Kolstad, the man behind the screenplays for John Wick and Nobody, about his ideas for the sequel’s opening sequence.
It was revealed in an interview with the site that Connie Nielsen, who plays Hutch’s wife Becca, was open to the concept of a sequel that delves further into Becca and Hutch’s past, in addition to continuing Hutch’s assassin adventures with his father (Christopher Lloyd) and brother (RZA). Bullet Train, the highly stylized action comedy directed by Leitch, will be released in theatres on August 5th. During the conversation, he also told about his most recent endeavour, the forthcoming film The Fall Guy.
Currently in pre-production is a project starring Ryan Gosling, which will give Leitch yet another outstanding lead. On Nobody, Leitch worked as a producer for filmmaker Ilya Naishuller, who made the film. Hulu and HBO Max don’t have anyone to watch.
