Moviegoers are preparing for a crowded autumn season of films. Jonathan Majors and Glen Powell feature in the Korean War drama Devotion, which premieres in theatres this November. An exciting new trailer & poster for the picture have just been unveiled by Sony Pictures, both of which hint at the suspenseful action to come. As seen in their flying gear, wingmen Jesse Brown and Tom Hudner (Majors and Powell, respectively) hover above an arctic dogfight, the poster depicts. Brown and Hudner, two exceptional Navy fighter pilots trapped in the middle of the Korean War, whose actions “would ultimately make them the Navy’s most revered wingmen,” are the focus of the film, which is based on the book by Adam Makos.
An excellent follow-up to the trailer, which depicted an epic war movie centred on the brave camaraderie between the two pilots. Top Gun: Maverick, starring Powell as a Naval aviator, was a smash hit this summer, and Devotion couldn’t be more timed. Majors and Powell have great chemistry in their roles as the two leading men in Devotion.
The movie is more serious than Makos’ book, but it has plenty of meaningful material to work with, and it looks to be bolstered by the two talented leading men, who have recently had success in both Maverick and Kang the Conqueror for Marvel’s Loki series. While Devotion will be competing with films like Steven Spielberg’s The Fablemans and Disney’s Strange World in the packed movie calendar, audiences always like a good war picture. In terms of popularity, it’s one of the most well-known genres in the media.
This movie will be a hit, thanks to the exciting action sequences and an impressive ensemble cast. Christina Jackson, Thomas Sadoski, and Joe Jonas all feature in the war epic. Director J.D. Dillard might be on to something big if the trailers are anything to go by.
In cinemas on November 23rd, Devotion.
