The Canadian science fiction thriller series Orphan Black, which is led by Tatiana Maslany, has a spinoff called Orphan Black: Echoes. Krysten Ritter, who previously starred in Jessica Jones and Breaking Bad, is executive producing the new series in addition to playing the major role. In her role as a British con artist, Tatiana Maslany learns that she is a clone and that she & her “sister” clones, who were created as part of an illegal human cloning operation, are being sought.
Her search for her “sister” clones is the central plot of the flagship series. In a not-too-distant future, the spin-off series investigates the scientific alteration of human existence. Ritter’s character Lucy will lead a group of women whose lives intertwine and go on an action-packed journey that unveils the truth about the mystery surrounding their origins. There is currently no word on whether Ritter will imitate Maslany’s portrayal of the same character in several iterations. The creator, head writer, showrunner, and executive producer of Orphan Black: Echoes is Jon Fawcett, & who also co-created the first Orphan Black television series.
Anna Fishko is also the producer of Tyrant and Fear the Walking Dead. For the spin-off series, Jon Fawcett will also serve in the roles of director and executive producer. Ritter played Jessica Jones, a former superhero turned private investigator, for a total of three seasons in a universe before Disney Plus; nonetheless, the programme is finally available to watch on Disney Plus (& is an official part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe).
