An exclusive from Deadline has revealed the cast of the upcoming Jane Weinstock-directed historical drama, Three Birthdays, which just wrapped filming recently. How I Met Your Mother star Josh Radnor has been hired for the next film. He is best known for his role as Ted Mosby in the Emmy-winning comedy. There are two newcomers with Radnor: Annie Parisse (Friends from College) and debutante Nuala Cleary (The Crowded Room). New Amsterdam actress Jasmine Batchelor will also feature in Three Birthdays with Ulysses Schlesinger (Generation) and Gus Birney (Sleepless in Seattle) (Shining Vale).
Annie McNamara (Severance), Dolly Wells (Doll & Em), and Guy Burnet (Oppenheimer) will all appear in the film, which will be directed by Christopher Nolan. For Weinstock, who wrote and directed this historical piece about a college professor’s family in the 1970s, it’s all about balancing their personal and political lives in the midst of the sexual revolution and Vietnam War; Radnor and Parisse play the parents, while Clearly portrays their 16-year-old son.
Three Birthdays might examine the interaction between the characters and numerous issues, such as generational disparities and family, with an engaging premise throughout an important decade. When it comes to the subject matter, the picture is set in a difficult period of history, and it features an impressive cast and an experienced filmmaker at the helm of production. Producers for the planned film include Andrea Miller, Chris Collins, and James Welling. In addition to Three Birthdays, Radnor will star in the Hulu miniseries Fleishman Is in Trouble, directed by Haroula Rose, and the films All Happy Families and Ramona at Midlife, all of which are helmed by Brooke Berman. It’s been confirmed that Cleary and Tom Holland will star in the Apple TV+ drama “The Crowded Room.” Three Birthdays has yet to receive an official release date because production on the next independent film just wrapped up.
