An official release date and fresh trailer have been released for Amazon Freevee’s second original film: Post Malone: Runaway. On his first-ever stadium tour, The Runaway Tour, the Grammy-nominated singer will be the subject of a one-hour-long music documentary. Exclusive backstage video and personal interviews from the band’s North American tour will be featured in the documentary. Many of the most memorable moments from Post Malone’s 2019 tour are included in a one-and-a-half-minute long video that includes a voice-over that says, “there’s frequently a moment which defines an artist and Post is experiencing it.” After seeing clips from backstage, it’s clear that Malone is having a great time while playing for his father, who describes him as an “eccentric kid, always creative” in one interview.
Overall, the teaser offers a look inside Malone’s creative process and the quiet moments that shape him into a once-in-a-generation artist.
Hector Dockrill, who has been nominated for a BAFTA, wrote and produced the musical documentary. Sam Bridger and Casey Engelhardt wrote and produced it. “I already knew Post Malone was a power before coming on tour,” the London-based filmmaker stated while discussing the performer. When I had the opportunity to spend time with him in an unfiltered and intimate setting, I soon recognised that he was unlike anything the world has ever seen.

Stoney’s debut studio album, Stoney, set a record for the most weeks on the US Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums list in 2016 with the smash track Congratulations.
Beyonce and Jay Z followed it up with the Beerbong & Bentleys album, which debuted at the top of the US Billboard 200 & was nominated for two Grammys. Malone has won 10 Billboard Music Awards, one MTV Video Music Award, three American Music Awards, and nine Grammy Award nominations throughout the course of his long and famous career. As a musician, he is one who has continually defied classification and established his own personal artistic agenda. Having worked with Post Malone, his staff, and his record label to film this historical tour has been an honour for Pulse Films.”
Runaway by Post Malone will premiere on Freevee on August 12th.
