For the third season of Never Have I Ever, a stunning new trailer advises that you should be cautious about what you desire. ‘Never Have I Ever Season 3 Season 2 ended with a happy ending for Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) and Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Darren Barnet), but it appears like their love story may come to an end this season as Devi falls under the weight of her doubts about Paxton’s feelings for her. Uh-oh! Some fans may ask if Ben, Devi’s academic adversary and one-time sort-of lover, will wind up back together, but the teaser doesn’t address that question—though it does show a glimpse of Aneesa (Megan Suri) seeming a little disturbed about Devi and Ben chuckling about something together.
In addition to Paxton (Anriduh Pisharody), the teaser introduces us to a new hottie named Des (Jake Johnson), who is everything but a “loser child” as Devi fears. Because he’s the son of a friend of Poorna Jagannathan’s (Devi’s mother), and because the rest of the cast goes to a public high school, Des attends a posh private school in Los Angeles. Aside from a peek at her stunning PhD candidate cousin Kamala (Richa Moorjani) and Devi’s high school English instructor Manish Kulkarni, the teaser also shows Devi dealing with her relationship issues (Utkarsh Ambudkar). Do these two have a future together?
It’s possible that Manish and Prashant’s relationship is finally moving in the right direction after she abandoned her engagement dinner with Prashant (Rushi Kota) in the Season 2 finale to spend time with Manish. In Never Have I Ever, Devi must not be the only one having flings with gorgeous boys. This season, Des isn’t the only newbie. Although Netflix hasn’t disclosed their roles just yet, the third season will feature two new characters, Addison (played by Terry Hu) and Parker (played by Deacon Phillippe). Fabiola (Lee Rodriguez), Eleanor (Ramona Young), Devi’s BFFs, Trent (Benjamin Norris), and Paxton’s BFF, are all back in the trailer, as is Devi’s ex-boyfriend Trent.
When Netflix and Universal Television renewed the show for a third season, Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher stated in a statement that they were “very thankful” for the opportunity to continue to portray the tale of “this terribly behaved Indian girl.”
Never Have I Ever Season 3 premieres on August 12th, 2013.
