Following HBO’s announcement last week that production on the third season of the martial arts crime drama Warrior had begun, news has emerged that two new actors will be joining the cast, adding even more intrigue to the story of Ah Sahm (Andrew Koji), a man searching for his missing sister in Chinatown’s notorious underworld. There will be 2 new cast members in the third season of the successful show: professional ass-kicker Mark Dacascos, and newbie Chelsea Muirhead. For the 2nd time in as many years, Dacascos, an accomplished karate/kung fu practitioner, has been cast as the star of yet another martial arts film.
Ah Sahm will face an increasing number of problems as he plays Kong Pak, the show’s antagonist, played by actor John Dacascos. A Long Zii-affiliated tong has just taken Pak over as its head. Li Yong, the enforcer of Long Zii’s crimes in Chinatown, is a friend and mentor of Sahm’s opponent, Li Yong. The daughter of a small print shop maker in Chinatown, Muirhead plays Yan Mi, a non-combat part that relies on sharp humour rather than blows to get through the chaotic streets. John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Hawaii Five-0, and Brotherhood of the Wolf are just a few of the films in which Dacascos has appeared.
For his long-running position in the cookery show, Iron Chef America; he returned to reprise his role as the Chairman in the relaunch, Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend. Unlike Muirhead, who has been acting for for a short time, Muirhead is a relative unknown. The Toronto-born actress, who is half-Filipino and half-Scottish, will appear in the 2020 television series Slo Pitch. Sappy Holiday, Spare Parts, and Meet Me in New York are a few of her more recent works. San Francisco, where Sahm emigrates in pursuit of his lost sister Mai Ling, is the setting for Warrior’s protagonist.
When he arrives in San Francisco, he realises that she is the de-facto head of the Chinatown criminal group Long Zi, and he soon finds himself caught up in gang conflicts of his own making. In the 1870s, martial arts legend Bruce Lee wrote a book that inspired the series’ plot. Changes in creative direction led to the cancellation of Warrior after two seasons on Cinemax. The series would subsequently move to HBO Max, where it would be renewed for a third season, much to the pleasure of fans. This season, several of the original cast members, including Olivia Cheng, Jason Tobin and Dianne Doan will return, as well as Tom Weston-Jones, Hoon Lee, and Kieran Bew, as well as some newcomers. Chen Tang, Miranda Raison and Dustin Nguyen.
Joe Taslim and Langley Kirkwood. Co-executive producers include Bruce Lee’s daughter Shannon as well as Justin Lin, Danielle Woodrow, and Andrew Schneider from Perfect Storm; as well as Kenny and Evan Endicott from Bruce Lee Entertainment; Josh Stoddard from Josh Stoddard Productions; and Richard Sharkey from Sharkey Productions. Currently, under production in South Africa, the third season of Warrior will include ten episodes when it airs on HBO Max. HBO Max presently has the first and second seasons of Warrior accessible for streaming.
