It’s finally here! If you’re a lover of supernatural horror and have been eagerly awaiting the launch of Poltergeist on 4K UHD, we’ve got good news for you. Warner Bros. has announced that the 4K Ultra HD and digital release of the terrifying picture will take place on September 20. Tobe Hooper directed and produced Steven Spielberg’s Tobe Hooper-directed and produced Tobe Hooper-produced film is getting an improved version just in time for the Halloween season. The summer of 1982 brought Poltergeist to the big screen with a storyline co-written by Spielberg. When the Freeling family put down roots in Cuesta Verde, a housing development in California, they were shocked to discover that the ground beneath them had been ripped out from under them. Carol Anne (Heather O’Rourke), the family’s youngest kid, begins chatting to a static-filled television set one night. Cuesta Verde is overrun by ghosts who are all under the influence of a giant boss-like demonic entity known as the Beast as the movie’s events and jump scare unfold.
They kidnap Carol Anne when they perceive her as their ticket to the other side and take her family on a journey to evict the ghosts and reclaim their daughter. There is a lot of Spielberg influence in the brilliant and savvy writing, including dimension-hopping and a mix of the sci-fi and horror genres. Although he intended to direct the film, Spielberg was already working on E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, a modest smash success. As a well-known and acclaimed horror filmmaker, Hooper was an obvious choice to direct the supernatural horror movie. The inclusion of extra content and artwork in 4K UHD versions is becoming increasingly common.
For Poltergeist, on the other hand, the release date has just been announced. We’re happy to see the film that caused us a terrible dread of white noise moving toward a high-resolution drop, regardless of whether we receive any more content. Keep little children away from the TV and your doors locked when Poltergeist debuts on digital and 4K UHD on September 20.
