It’s understandable that Kate Winslet would want to continue working with HBO after her hugely successful roles in HBO’s Mare of Easttown and the 2011 miniseries Mildred Pierce. Exactly that is taking place as the actress prepares to begin work on The Palace, her fourth film for HBO. Would Tracy (Succession) have revealed that the Academy Award-winning actress will star in his new drama, which he developed? Winslet will appear in a drama centred on an authoritarian state in the next series. Over the course of a year, the audience will be able to see how the oppressive rulers begin to lose control of the surrounding metropolis from within the eponymous palace.
It was announced that Stephen Frears will helm the series, which shows that HBO is preparing to unveil another critically lauded production. ‘Game of Thrones’ Dangerous Liaisons and High Fidelity are two of his best-known works, and he is widely regarded as one of the greatest cinema directors of all time. The executive vice president of HBO Programming, Francesca Orsi, said the network was “proud” to have the movie under the studio’s brand since they know it will be an automatic ticket to the awards circuit.
As Orsi put it, “the inclusion of Winslet and Frears is a dream come true for [HBO],” referring to Tracy’s work as “wildly unique, perceptive, and brilliant.” Frank Rich will serve as an executive producer with Winslet, Tracy, and Frears. Seth Reiss, Juli Weiner, Jen Spyra, Gary Shteyngart, and Sarah DeLappe make up Tracy’s writing staff, who will also act as the showrunners. The film will be the first time that Winslet and Frears, two of Hollywood’s most acclaimed actors, have collaborated on a project. Shortly after it was reported that she had signed on for a second HBO limited series called The Trust, the actress has been cast in a new show called The Palace.
It is based on the novel Trust by Hernan Diaz and follows a world-renowned banker who employs a ghostwriter to redo his life narrative after being dissatisfied with an earlier book written about him. The story will be conveyed via a variety of genres and perspectives, creating an ever-evolving flair for the reader. We can’t wait to see how much drama HBO has to offer when both The Trust and The Palace premiere on the network. Both productions have not yet been given a release date.
