The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Blade story has been rather silent until the studio’s Comic-Con Hall H event. Mahershala Ali (Moonlight, Green Book) will appear in Kevin Feige’s Blade, which will begin production in October, according to Feige. Blade’s release date has also been set for November 3, 2023, when the picture will open in theatres. Three years ago, Blade was announced in the same room as Ali’s casting. The Marvels, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, The Marvels, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 were all mentioned at the MCU presentation in 2019, however they were just softly mentioned. The COVID-19 epidemic, of course, threw a few curve balls to Feige and Marvel.
Additionally, it has been confirmed that Blade will be a part of Marvel’s Phase 5, making the delay even more apparent. Blade’s production is anticipated to take place at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, which has been a well-known filming venue for a number of Marvel movies. New Orleans, Cleveland, Ohio, and Morocco will also be used as filming sites. Aside from Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods) and Aaron Pierre (Old), the only other confirmed cast members in the film are Eternals’ Dane Whitman, portrayed by Kit Harington. In the post-credits sequence of that film, Blade’s voice may be heard challenging Whitman’s decision to deploy the Ebony Blade. This ancient item is expected to play a significant role in the flick.
Stacey Osei-Kuffour wrote the screenplay, which Bassam Tariq (as Mogul Mowgli) is directing (Watchmen, Pen15). It isn’t certain how near the film will go to being the genesis of Eric Brooks/Blade, specifically. Due to his mother’s death at the hands of a vampire, Brooks is born a human/vampire hybrid. In order to become a vampire hunter, Blade exploits the fact that he is immune to vampire bites.
A number of their upcoming projects, like Doctor Strange: The Multiverse of Madness and the recently announced Werewolf by Night starring Gael Garcia Bernal, show that they are leaning toward the gothic horror genre.
Aside from the fact that it will be a Disney+ Halloween special, little is known about the second project. Feige and Marvel are expected to reveal further information about Blade and the rest of the current Multiverse Sage during Disney’s D23, which takes place in early September. On November 3, 2023, Blade will be released in cinemas.
