Fans of Chucky on USA and Syfy have a lot to look forward to this week. Even though the show skipped Comic Con, it made up for it by releasing the first official teaser for the program’s upcoming second season over the weekend. Jennifer Tilly, Tiffany Valentine’s makeup artist, recently took to Twitter to show off her look. Still looking stunning in her long cream silk dress with a shocking purple skirt, Tilly sits on a stairwell in dramatic style. The ensemble is completed with a magnificent head wrap fit for a queen and purple wrist pieces. The Bound actress penned “Sunset Boulevard” in her Instagram caption, followed by a few appropriate hashtags. It’s possible that her caption is a nod to the legendary 1950 Billy Wilder-helmed noir movie of the same name set in Los Angeles.
Tilly has been quite forthcoming recently regarding filming for the second season of the Don Mancini series. On her Twitter feed, she has shared behind-the-scenes views at sets, cameo revelations, and first glimpses of her new co-star Lachlan Watson, who will be playing Tiffany and Chucky’s child, Glen/Glenda, who will be played by Watson. As a result of the new teaser, we now have a better idea of what to expect this coming season. The reappearance of the murderous doll, voiced by veteran franchise actor Brad Dourif, was built up in the first season. During this episode, we saw Chucky return and pick a new victim, Jake Wheeler, to attach to (Zackary Arthur). This coming-of-age story is fueled by drama, drugs, and abuse as Jake deals with his sexuality and the demonic doll. We also learned a little more about serial killer Charles Lee Ray, who is linked to the Good Guy doll’s soul.
The second season trailer promises more blood and gore, as Chucky appears to have successfully spread the evil to a whole fleet of Good Guy dolls as they burst out of their confinement, eager to claim their victims. Björgvin Arnarson, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, Christine Elise, Barbara Alyn Woods, and Devon Sawa will all return for season two, along with Arthur, Dourif, Watson, and Tilly, as well as special guest stars Gina Gershon, Joe Pantoliano, Tony Nappo, Lara Jean Chorostecki, Sutton Stracke, and Meg Tilly. Season 2 of Chucky will premiere on October 5 on TBS. Get ready for mayhem.
