What If? Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Several Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) series will debut on Disney+ in 2021, including What If…? On the heels of a comic book series, this animated anthology explores what may have happened if Marvel Comics’ MCU events had gone differently. Among the MCU actors returning to reprise their roles in this series are Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Ruffalo, Natalie Portman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Hayley Atwell, Chris Hemsworth, Michael B. Jordan, Jeremy Renner, Michael Douglas, Tom Hiddleston, Karen Gillan, Sebastian Stan, and Paul Rudd in addition to Jeffrey Wright as The Watcher.

Chadwick Boseman’s final appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is also a sad one. Because of the vastness of the Marvel Universe, Disney+ and Marvel Studios have decided to extend the run of the programme. Despite the fact that there aren’t many facts available, we may nevertheless talk about the upcoming season. Everything we know about What If…? so far is included here. Season two.

Is Season 2 of What If…? coming out soon?
What may happen if I…? On November 12, 2021, Disney+ Day, Season 2 was originally announced, although no release date was given other than that the season is coming “soon.” Nevertheless, executive producer Brad Winderbaum revealed to Steve Weintraub in August 2021 that they intend to release a new season each year: It takes a long time to make an animation, as you know.” To give us a chance to release it next year, we received approval for a second season early enough on. We’ll have to wait and see. Our goal is to make it a yearly release, but obviously, I don’t want to anticipate the future given this new environment we live in.” Also, two months later, director Bryan Andrews told Entertainment Weekly that the episodes for Season 2 have already been written, which will enable the team to stick to their yearly release schedule. Bryan Andrews.

Is there a trailer for ‘What If…’? Season 2
A trailer for the second season of What If…? has not yet been released by Marvel, but we’ll keep this page updated when it does.

What If Cast and Crew:
Season 2’s roster has yet to be announced, but it’s safe to assume that the same actors that starred in Season 1 will return. Many actors from Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Eternals might appear if this season tackles story issues from Phase 4.

What If… Season 2: How Many Episodes Will Be There?
The second season of What If… Season 2 will have nine thirty-minute episodes.
How long each episode is was Winderbaum’s response when questioned about it. “For each episode, we set a goal of ‘a half-hour.’ More or less all of them are within the same length range. In the end, it was all about getting things done in a reasonable amount of time. All of the stories that we could muster up were important to us. We also had a limited budget, so the ten-episode (now nine-episode) run seemed to be the ideal length.” The COVID-19 pandemic, according to Winderbaum, led the team to revise its initial plans for both seasons, which were each planned to be 10 episodes long.

Second Season of What If…? Plot
What If…storyline ?’s is still a mystery. This early in Season 2, the show’s lead writer, AAC Bradlee, did give EW some hints about the show’s second season. “The anthology format will be carried over to the second season, which will have all-new storylines, loads of fun, new heroes, and a greater reliance on Phase Four than was shown in season one. Eternals and Shang-Chi and Black Widow characters may be hinted at. It’s fascinating to explore the limitless cosmos in What If…? so we bounce about as much as possible. Despite the fact that I like Captain Carter, we have to spread the love around. Excited to introduce new characters and settings to the public.”

It was revealed in an interview with EW that Season 2 will focus less on “end of the world” scenarios and “present a different aspect of these heroes and… maybe they can identify to,” as opposed to this season’s team-up including characters from other realms. Variety reported in October 2021 that Captain Carter would be a “pretty safe bet” to return, which isn’t a surprise given the mid-credits sequence in Season 1’s end that hinted at her return. The Gamora we saw at the finale of Season 1 is expected to be in one of the episodes. There were some reasons why we didn’t get to see Bradley more frequently in Season 1. “There was a planned episode featuring Gamora and Tony Stark, which was supposed to air earlier in the season but was cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. COVID epidemic forced the episode to be postponed until Season 2 since one of our animation facilities was severely impacted by the pandemic.

Pushing a television episode is nothing in contrast to what we’ve all been through in the last two years. As a result, we were all on the same page. Next year, we hope the fans have a good time.” On the other side, fans wanting to witness various takes on Disney+ original series will likely be let down. Bradley said in the same Variety interview: “In Season 2, we’ll be working in tandem with the Disney Plus live-action series on a lot of our content. We’d already started drafting. That means we may not have the time or want to examine some of the things that appeared in those episodes since we’re doing them nearly at the same time. Kevin [Feige, CEO of Marvel Studios] was like, “No no no! Please don’t touch it! That must not be touched! “Not quite yet,” says the expert. If these things continue, we may be able to play around with some of those stuff at some point in the future. However, we’ll be able to play around with other aspects of the MCU. There’s a lot of potential here.”
