There will be a third season of “Resident Alien” on Syfy, with 12 new episodes. Alien Harry Vanderspeigle, disguised as local doctor Harry Vanderspeigle, is on a quest to annihilate all of humanity in the main series. In the meanwhile, he must deal with the moral problem of his covert mission while he is still on the planet. The second half of Season 2 will air on August 10th. When it launched in 2021, Resident Alien season 1 was an instant hit with viewers, and it’s still doing well today. Season 2 begins with Harry still stuck on Earth and dealing with the fallout of his mission failure. Season two will begin in the immediate aftermath of Asta’s heroic effort to save Harry’s life.
Chris Sheridan, well known for his work on Family Guy, acts as executive producer and showrunner for the series based on Dark Horse comics by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse. Sheridan revealed to Deadline that the second season’s themes will be a lot darker than the first. It seems to me that Season 2’s journey extends that humanity to others other than Asta, teaching him empathy and encouraging him to consider that there are other people in the world outside Asta he may care about.
Even while it’s clear that it will continue into the second season, we don’t want to do it too soon where suddenly he cares for everyone. Corey Reynolds plays Mike Thompson, Alice Wetterlund plays D’Arcy Bloom, Levi Fiehler plays Ben Hawthorne, Judah Prehn plays Max Hawthorne and Elizabeth Bowen plays Liv Baker in recurring roles. Executive producers include Dark Horse Entertainment’s Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg, as well as Amblin TV’s Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank. Christian Taylor and Nastaran Dibai both serve as executive producers on the film. August 10th is the date for the second episode of Resident Alien Season 2.
The following is the official summary:
As Harry’s human feelings grow stronger and stronger in his new goal to defend the people of Earth, he tries to cling to his alien identity.
