The Wheel of Time has been renewed for a third season ahead of the launch of Season 2 at San Diego Comic-Con at The Wheel of Time: Origins panel. The Wheel of Time, a multi-season series based on the best-selling novels of the late Robert Jordan, launched on the streaming service in November 2021. To have that same security as the next season begins to unfold is comfort for viewers who knew going into the first season that the series would return for a second season. When asked about the future of this series, showrunner and executive producer Rafe Judkins said, “I’m really excited that we’ll be making a third season of The Wheel of Time.” Rafe Judkins was present for the Origins panel.
When I initially proposed the show years and years ago, The Shadow Rising was my favourite book in the series, so it’s an honour to be able to bring it to television and introduce new audiences to the stories that made me fall in love with these novels in the first place.” The fourth volume in Jordan’s series, The Shadow Rising, incorporates story aspects from multiple books at a time as the party begins on their perilous adventure, as shown in the television series. Rosamund Pike, Josha Stradowski, Marcus Rutherford, Zo Robins, Madeleine Madden, and Daniel Henney are all slated to return for Season 2. “Mat Cauthon” has taken a darker turn, as was hinted at in the season finale, and Dónal Finn will take up the role for Season 2. Ayoola Smart, Ceara Coveney, Natasha O’Keeffe, Gregg Chillingirian, and Meera Syal are some of the other additions to Season 2.
Darren Lemke (Shazam!, Goosebumps, Winter Dragon), Ted Field and Mike Weber of Radar Pictures (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Winter Dragon), and Marigo Kehoe (Shazam!, Goosebumps, Winter Dragon) also serve as executive producers with Judkins.

Vernon Sanders, Amazon Studios’ head of worldwide television, said: As Rafe Judkins and his team have done a fantastic job preserving Robert Jordan’s vision and offering a wonderful watching experience to Prime Video consumers, we couldn’t be more pleased to dig further into the universe of The Wheel of Time.” Season One proved that this is a programme that genuinely stands out in the genre arena by resonating with the most ardent Jordan fans as well as those who had never heard of the series before.
