The first trailer for Honor Among Thieves has several nods to the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game. In a panel at San Diego Comic-Con featuring the film’s cast and crew, we finally got our first look at the much-awaited film version of the well-known tabletop role-playing game. Honour Among Thieves follows a gang of mercenaries that must join together, explore tombs, and gather loot, as we’ve come to expect from any D&D adventure. In a dangerous journey, trusting new partners is difficult, and it takes time for everyone to learn how to use their own talents and magical abilities to benefit the group as a whole.
To get a sense of how the film’s travelling would be handled, the new trailer introduces the characters of the dungeon crawlers, who are thieves on a quest. Traps and monsters are an essential part of any journey. Many of the traditional obstacles we’ve all faced in our own tabletop adventures will be honoured in the new film, which will please keen-eyed moviegoers everywhere. Jonathan Goldstein is best recognised for his work as a co-director on Bones. Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Regé-Jean Page appear in Honor Among Thieves.
The release date for Dungeons & Dragons has been scheduled for March 3rd, 2023.
