This September, the Jeepers Creepers series will return for a three-day fan event. The Creeper returns in Jeepers Creepers: Reborn, which premieres on September 19th, and Screen Media has just published the trailer. Until September 21, the film will only be shown in cinemas, with a fresh cast of victims. Jeepers Creepers: Reborn, directed by Tom Vuorensola, is set in a tiny Louisiana town during the first-ever Horror Hound Festival. Chase (Imran Adams), who has convinced his girlfriend Laine (Sydney Craven) to accompany him to the festival, retells the local legend of The Creeper in the trailer. The Creeper returns to feed every 23 years, according to folklore, he explains along the way. Fans and their girlfriends are the Creeper’s primary prey.
With irrational attendees, bizarre exhibits, and an unnerving Creeper Draw, the event takes on the carnival-like feel of a freak show. In the end, Laine and Chase were chosen as the champions of a Creeper-themed two-person escape room. When The Creeper shows up to terrify, the horrors may be a little too realistic, though. In terms of plot, it appears that Reborn strays from the original 2001 Jeepers Creepers, which starred Justin Long and Gina Philips. Reborn, unlike the sequels and the threequels, doesn’t make it apparent where in the timeline it falls. Both films were shot in rural Florida, however, the Horror Hound Festival is hosted in Louisiana.
The Creeper is no longer played by original alum Jonathan Breck, who has played the malevolent creature in all three prior films but is now resurrected as Jarreau Benjamin. This is perhaps the most shocking departure. Ocean Navarro, Matt Barkley, Peter Brooke, Gabriel Freilich, Georgia Goodman, and more appear in Jeepers Creepers: Reborn. Filmmaker Vuorensola, who helmed Reborn, is best known for the odd satires Iron Sky (2012) and Iron Sky: The Coming Race (2019) both released in 2012. Reborn director Juha Vuorensola has a slew of projects in the works, including genetics vs. technology sci-fi Project Darwin, an Alec Baldwin and Jonathan Rhys Meyers kidnap thriller titled 97 Minutes, and a prequel to his Iron Sky film The Ark: An Iron Sky Story. By Jake Seal, Sean-Michael Argo, and Michael Ohoven & Seal, Reborn has been written and produced. From September 19 to September 21, Jeepers Creepers: Reborn will be shown in cinemas just for a limited time as part of a fan celebration.
