Allison McRoberts (Annie Murphy) has been teased in a new teaser for AMC’s dark comedy Kevin Can F**k Himself ahead of its second and last season on the network. The series will continue to depict Allison’s tale of fleeing from her husband’s shadow into a new, more free existence by using a combination of multi-camera and single-camera storytelling techniques. On Monday, August 29th, the show will return to AMC and AMC+. Allison and her friend Patty O’Connor (Mary Hollis Inboden) decide to take a fresh approach to end Kevin’s life in the second season of the series.
Things have gotten a whole lot more tricky now that Kevin’s closest buddy Neil (Alex Bonifer) knows about their initial intentions and their plans to expose them. In addition to dealing with him, they must devise a strategy that does not include killing him. Even with Patty along for the ride, Allison still has her sights set on some dubious locales and suspect characters to get her out of this sticky situation. She considers anything from staging her own death to just fleeing, as long as she can keep Kevin from finding her. Kevin, on the other hand, continues to live a carefree comedy life as king. Because of its deconstruction of classic comedy cliches, Season 1 of the series was a huge hit with viewers and on social media.
Despite the positive reception, AMC has decided to remain with its two-season model, choosing shorter series in order to produce more original content. New episodes of Season 2 will address Allison’s personal issues, but Inboden will take centre stage as she tries to assist Allison on her own terms this time around. Besides Brian Howe, Raymond Lee, Jamie Denbo and Candice Coke, the cast of Kevin Can F**K Himself also includes Brian Howe. Erinn Hayes, a former cast member of The Goldbergs and Kevin Can Wait, will guest star in Season 2. Valerie Armstrong, who previously worked as a writer on Lodge 49 and SEAL Team, has found success with her debut series.
Armstrong is joined by executive producers Rashida Jones and Will McCormack from Le Train Train. Showrunner and executive producer duties are shared by Craig DiGregorio (Shrill), Sean Clements, and Colin Walsh. on AMC and AMC+ at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the second season of Kevin Can Fuck Himself will premiere. There will be two episodes available for AMC+ users to watch at the debut, with additional episodes arriving a week early on the service following.
