To prevent Code from killing Amado, Eida summoned Daemon to intervene in the previous episode of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. After Amado told her that Kawaki is the ace in the hole, Eida resolved to take action. The emergency shutdown command code, which can only be used by Amado, was another item that he implanted in Kawaki along with karma. Amado emphasised that Konoha is responsible for Kawaki, but this affects other villages, thus they have no option but to trust him. Amado sees the shutdown function as nothing more than a safety net to keep his reputation intact in the community. It’s clear that Kawaki’s karma is essential in order for him to attain his primary goal.
When Eida threatened Amado with spilling the beans, the latter stated he’d talk but that it would be a long narrative, one that he’d have to tell to Konoha, too.
