And what’s more perfect than a summer love story sprinkled with elements of science fiction? As of Monday, July 11, a new trailer for The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes (Natsu e no Tunnel, Sayonara no Deguchi in the original Japanese) will be released. Kaoru Tono, a high school student, hears a rumour about an urban legend that piques his interest: There’s a mysterious tunnel called the Urashima Tunnel that grants wishes to those who find it and dare go through it, and he sets out to find it.
Those who enter the tunnel with the goal of fulfilling their deepest wishes, on the other hand, pay a price: they get older and lose years of life. He initially doubts this odd story, but when he comes to the section where it’s said he can return his younger sister Karen, who died in an accident five years ago, back to the life he can’t help but believe. Kaoru, on the other hand, had no idea she’d be followed. Anzu Hanashiro, a mysterious new transfer student from Kaoru’s class, agrees to assist him to explore the mystical corridor and learning its mysteries. What is it that Anzu is demanding in return? Are they going to be able to fulfil their dreams? How much will it cost? Against the backdrop of the Urashima tunnel, the trailer depicts Anzu and Kaoru concluding their transaction.
When the two high school kids venture into the tunnel, the lighting is red and purple, which creates a distinct visual distinction from the rest of the scene. Eill, who has performed the ending theme for notable anime series like Tokyo Revengers, is featured in the video. A voice cast of Marie Iitoyo, Oji Suzuka, Tasuku Hatanaka, Shohei Kaga, the student’s homeroom teacher, Haruka Terui as the students’ homeroom teacher, Arisa Komiya as Koharu Kawasaki, and Seiran Kobayashi as Karen are all included in the film’s soundtrack The producers are Ryouichirou Matsuo, Tomohisa Taguchi, and Satoki Iida; the screenplay and director are Tomohisa Taguchi and Satoki Iida.
