A few more characters have been added to the Showtime courtroom drama, Your Honor. According to Deadline, Now and Then star Rosie Perez has agreed to join the show’s second season. The Oscar-nominated actress will portray Olivia Delmont, a “charismatic” assistant U.S. Attorney who works with a hesitant asset in an effort to bring down a New Orleans criminal organisation. Andrene Ward-Hammond (Manifest) has been upgraded to a series regular for the forthcoming season in addition to Perez’s casting.
During the first season, Hammond appeared as Big Mo, a character with a recurrent role. Since his teenage son was involved in a hit-and-run accident, New Orleans judge Michael Desiato finds himself in the middle of “an impossible game of lies, treachery and impossible decisions” in the 2017 Israeli series Your Honor starring Emmy winner Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad). Your Honor, which was originally intended to be a one-season special, premiered in December of that year.
This programme was renewed for a 2nd season after its first season was the most profitable in Showtime’s history, with Cranston returning to reprise his role. On HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant, Perez featured Megan Briscoe with Kaley Cuoco. Human Resources, a Netflix spin-off of Big Mouth, and Maya and the Three are two more recent TV credits. Do the Right Thing, White Men Can’t Jump, and Birds of Prey are among Perez’s most well-known roles. Earlier this month, Cranston indicated that the show’s second season will be its final one. Showtime has yet to comment on Cranston’s revelation.
Perez joins the cast as a result of Cranston’s announcement. It’s been reported that the showrunner of Your Honor, Peter Moffat, chose not to return after serving as the showrunner for the 1st season. Season 1 writer Joey Hartstone took up the post. Michael Stuhlbarg, Hope Davis, Carmen Ejogo, Hunter Doohan, Sofia Black-D’Elia, Isiah Whitlock Jr., and Keith Machekanyanga are also in the cast of Your Honor. (The Rookie). With Robert and Michelle King (The Good Fight and The Good Wife), Cranston is also an executive producer on the project (The Good Fight, Evil).
Your Honor’s second and final season is presently under production. There is no official word on when the film will see the light of day.
