Recruits are being recruited by Gilead. Genevieve Angelson from New Amsterdam has been cast in Season 5 of The Handmaid’s Tale, according to TVLine. A behind-the-scenes shot of Angelson in costume for the show was also posted on her Twitter account. After Christine Ko, Angelson is the second newcomer to the season. It has been announced that Angelson would portray Mrs Wheeler, as an “affluent Canadian” who “obeys Serena and is a driving force behind Gilead’s ascent in Toronto.” It appears that Serena will take advantage of Commander Waterford’s death, as hinted at in the Season 5 teaser.
Serena is a cunning and intelligent individual, as fans well know. Considering how much she admires Serena, it’s possible that Mrs Wheeler will do more harm than good for the resistance. Last seen on screen as Dr Mia Castries in NBC’s New Amsterdam, Angelson is most remembered for her work there. Along with her work on The Afterparty for Apple TV and the Amazon originals Flack and Good Girls Revolt, she’s also appeared in a number of other series as a regular or guest star.
The Upside and Spare Room are two of Angelson’s feature film credits. Based on Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name, The Handmaid’s Tale aired in 2017. The drama features June (Elisabeth Moss), one of the numerous women compelled to be a handmaid for the express purpose of bearing children for wealthy families who are unable to do it themselves, in a dystopian version of the US now named Gilead. A resistance network has helped bring an end to Gilead since then, and the programme has followed June’s journey to free herself. Yvonne Strahovski, Bradley Whitford, Max Minghella, Moss, Angelson, Ko, and Amanda Brugel are among the Season 5 cast members, as are O-T Fagbenle, Samira Wiley, and Sam Jaeger.
As the showrunner, Bruce Miller collaborates with the rest of his team on the executive production of “The Walking Dead,” which also includes executive producers Moss and Warren Littlefield as well as writers Fran Sears and Eric Tuchman, as well as actors Yahlin Chang and Rachel Skukert as well as actresses Sheila Hockin and John Weber. Produced by MGM Television There will be a new upcoming episode of The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu every week beginning on Wednesday, September 14.
