The New York Times best-selling investigative journalism piece by Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey, She Said: Breaking the Sexual Harassment Story Which Helped Ignite a Movement, uncovered Harvey Weinstein’s history of sexual harassment and misbehaviour against women in the business, resulting in his downfall. As a result of this story, the #MeToo campaign was given a huge boost. A film version of the nonfiction work will be released on November 18th.
Two reporters working on an exposé to expose Weinstein’s sexual assaults will be the subject of She Said, a simplified version of the film that will focus on their investigation into “structures that shield abusers.” Actors Carey Mulligan (Promising Young Woman) and Zoe Kazan (The Plot Against America) feature as two journalists determined to disrupt Hollywood’s decades-long silence on sexual assault. In a male-dominated sector, women who speak up are often disregarded.
Kantor and Twohey’s early efforts to rally the victims of Weinstein were seen in the teaser. An investigation of sexual harassment in the entertainment industry is revealed to be underway by Kantor (Kazan). With Twohey (Mulligan), she persuaded women of all ages to come forward and recount their stories in order to bring down Weinstein. The first wave of sexual harassment & assault allegations against Weinstein will be highlighted in the film Finally, Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison after being found guilty of third-degree rape and sexual assault. One of Hollywood’s most powerful sexual predators was brought down thanks to the two journalists and countless more women who spoke up against him.
