J.R.R. Tolkien fans will be pleased to learn that Prime Video has released a new teaser for their live-action adaption of The Lord of the Rings: The Ring of Power. Peter Jackson’s famous film trilogy will be a precursor to this series set in the Second Age of Middle-earth.
New Lord of the Rings films will go back in time to reveal more about beloved characters’ backstories by transporting us to the Second Age. Hence, Elrond and Galadriel’s youthful counterparts (Robert Aramayo and Morfydd Clark) appear in The Rings of Power as key characters. A look into Sauron’s ascension to power, Isildur’s path to becoming a great human leader, and the construction of the rings of power will also be covered in the series. The forthcoming series, as shown in the teaser, will journey back to the days before there was a sun when the continent of Middle-earth was illuminated by the light of the Trees of Valinor.
Some of the major races in The Lord of the Rings’ realm are also shown in the teaser. We have elves guarding the woods, dwarves working in the earth’s mines, and humans cultivating vast expanses of farmland. Despite the seeming tranquilly of the regions, those who recall the path of death and ruin left by Morgoth, the first Dark Lord, when he attempted to dominate the world, persist in their fears. Finally, the trailer reveals that The Rings of Power will follow heroes from every race teaming together to battle against a new evil, created in the shadows of the last great conflict.
