As of this writing, 2022 has been a terrific year for horror, thanks to the comeback of Scream. The fifth film in the series, which aired in January, was a huge success for Paramount and sparked the development of a sixth picture for release in 2023. We’ve learned a lot about the impending slasher sequel’s cast recently, and we now have the names of the newest members to join the group. Scream 6 cast members Samara Weaving and Tony Revolori have been confirmed by Bloody Disgusting. Melissa Barrera, Courtney Cox, Hayden Panettiere, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Jenna Ortega are among the returning cast members. Additionally, they join season newbies Henry Czerny, Dermot Mulroney, Liana Liberata, Devyn Nekoda, and Josh Segarra.
However, we do know that it follows “the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind & start a new chapter.” The narrative is still being kept secret at this moment. You may, of course, have a fresh start, but you can’t outrun Ghostface. Gale, Sam, and Tara are among the characters who have been shown in new set images for the film, which is now in production. In addition, the film’s suspected New York locale has been confirmed by these unauthorised set images. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the filmmakers of Czerny, will direct Weaving’s Scream sequel (Radio Silence). Ready or Not, their underappreciated 2019 horror comedy, with Weaving as the movie’s breakout star.
Those flicks and others like The Babysitter films and Mayhem have made her a modern horror celebrity. Radio Silence had hoped to work with Weaving on the previous film, but due to conflicts with his schedule, he was unable to. Weaving demonstrated her mastery of balancing horror and humour in Ready or Not and The Babysitter. As a result, she’d be ideal for a Scream movie. Ghostface may have finally been perfected. Known mostly for his role as Flash Thompson in Jon Watts’ Spider-Man Trilogy, Revolori has also appeared in films like The French Dispatch and The Grand Budapest Hotel, both of which showcased his diverse acting abilities.
It’s going to be intriguing to see what Revolori brings to the horror genre because of the young actor’s remarkable body of work. In 2023, Scream 6 is scheduled to arrive in cinemas. Even though much of the actors from the previous editions will be back, it will also include a brilliant cast and crew. James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick are returning to write the screenplays, while original franchise screenwriter Kevin Williamson is serving as an executive producer for the next film. Even more information about the film is expected to be released in the near future because it is now in the middle of its gory production. Scream 2022 on Paramount+ is currently streaming, so while we wait for more from Weaving and Revolori, enjoy Scream 2022 on Paramount+ right now.
