It’s a delight for automobile and biopic enthusiasts both that Apple TV+ unveiled a new series today. The focus of Ferrari will be on Enzo Ferrari, the man behind the world’s fastest race car, as well as how his personal life suffered as a result of his work. From the creator and writer of Peaky Blinders, Steven Knight, and the BAFTA-winning director Paolo Sorrentino, the series is titled (The Hand of God).
Ferrari Rex: Biografia di un Grande Italiano del Novecento by Luca Dal Monte serves as the basis for the show, which focuses on the most significant five years of Enzo Ferrari’s life: His racing career spanned the years 1956 to 1961, during which he saw his son’s death and was betrayed by a key member of his squad.
To assist Enzo to elevate his surname to the top of the sport, Ferrari put up a brand-new racing team with five talented drivers. This isn’t the Michael Mann Ferrari movie with Adam Driver and Penelope Cruz, which has a different cast. Officially, Knight expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to tell this narrative and gave away some details about what will be at its heart in this new miniseries. This is an honour for me to portray the tale of this remarkable guy and his enduring brand in such an engaging way. This film, “Ferrari,” celebrates Enzo Ferrari’s absolutely unique life as defined by his tremendous personal and professional journey. In addition to writing Peaky Blinders, Knight has also authored David Cronenberg’s Eastern Promises, the cult classic Dirty Pretty Things, and the Princess Diana biography Spencer, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award.
See, a dystopian series for Apple TV+, was produced by Knight. The forthcoming All the Light We Cannot See Netflix miniseries has also enlisted his services as a writer and showrunner. In addition to directing, Stefano Sollima (Sicario: Day of the Soldado) is executive producing the Ferrari series with Knight and Paolo Sorrentino. After receiving an order for a full season from Apple TV+, the show will now go into production without waiting for a pilot episode to see how it does. The cast and release date of the Ferrari series has not yet been announced by Apple TV+.
The following is a summary of what you may expect from the show:
Five years have passed. There are five people behind the wheel. Five people were killed. I’ll give it one shot. To satisfy one’s insatiable need for speed, whatever the cost. Everything revolved around one enormous, multidimensional individual who committed his talents to the pursuit of creating the world’s fastest production racing vehicle. In the words of Enzo Ferrari: In time, his name became a brag, a goal, and a legend. In spite of all of this, there existed a path of tragedy and suffering. Enzo Ferrari rebuilds his racing team from the ground up between 1956 and 1961, picking five bright young stars of motor racing to strive for success after the terrible loss of his firstborn son Dino and what he believed was a betrayal by his lead driver Juan Manuel Fangio.
