Knives must be kept out of sight! The release date for Chucky Season 2 has been announced, and fans can anticipate the possessed doll to return in full force. From 9 p.m. on October 5, USA and Syfy will premiere the much-anticipated sophomore season of the programme you’ve been waiting for. As a teaser from the two networks, we’re confident that the titular guy has plenty of tricks under his sleeve for the scary season. Ten months after the original season’s finale, which aired in December 2021 and left many questions unanswered, the highly anticipated sophomore instalment arrives.
Even if certain story arcs were tied together, the most important question remains about the truckload of Good Guy Dolls on their way to an airport departure gate. Of course, there’s the story of Nica (Fiona Dourif), Tiffany Valentine’s (Jennifer Tilly) newly realised BFF, who was limb-stripped by the murderous female doll so that she could never escape and so that Chucky (Brad Dourif) could never again possess her to harm his on-again, off-again love, Tiffany. Even if the answers to these issues are revealed in the first episodes of Season 2, there will also be new storylines introduced. Glen/Glenda, Chucky and Tiffany’s child, hasn’t been seen in a long time and we’re eager to see her again. They’ll be making a return appearance in the forthcoming season to solve the issue of what happened to them after the cliffhanger in Seed of Chucky.
Our expectations are high for Lachlan Watson, who starred in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and will portray Glen/Glenda, and we can’t wait to see what fresh depth and passion they bring to the role. There’s a good chance that with the inclusion of Glen/Glenda in Season 2, the show will tackle the topic of gender identification in the same way it did in Season 1. There will be many familiar characters on the cast, including Tilly, Fiona and Brad Dourif, Zackary Arthur, Björgvin Arnarson, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Alex Vincent, and Christine Elise, and Barbara Alyn Woods. There will be more of Devon Sawa, even if he was murdered off (again, but who cares?). Chucky returns to both Syfy and USA on October 5 for a new murder-filled season of the Don Mancini-created series.
