According to Deadline’s exclusive, Jeff Goldblum has been cast as Zeus in the new television series Kaos, which premieres in 2017. Due to schedule issues, Hugh Grant, the initial choice for the part, had to withdraw. The series, written and created by Charlie Covell, will be a dark and hilarious retelling of Greek myths. It won’t be long until Goldblum’s portrayal of the all-knowing deity Zeus spirals out of control when the actor sees a wrinkle on his forehead. Kaos, despite the lack of detailed narrative specifics, might be another amusing take on Greek mythology, with a humorous notion at its heart. In addition to Goldblum, the series stars Janet McTeer, who has twice been nominated for an Academy Award, and Cliff Curtis, who will next be seen in the film Avatar: The Way of the Water. Remus Lupin actor David Thewlis will join Killian Scott in the series, which is based on the Harry Potter books. Aurora Perrineau, best known for her role in Westworld, and Misia Butler, best known for her role in The School for Good & Evil, are both joining the cast.
Kaos will also include I Hate Suzie’s Leila Farzad, Mowgli’s Nabhaan Rizwan, Black Mirror’s Rakie Ayola, and The Libertine’s Stanley Townsend. Clash of the Titans and Disney’s Hercules are two examples of Greek Mythology films that have appeared on the big screen. With Disney working on a series based on Percy Jackson and the Olympians, it doesn’t look like the famed stories will fade anytime soon.
The show’s production will get underway later this summer.
Georgi Banks-Davies will direct the first half of the series, with Runyararo Mapfumo, Jane Featherstone, Chris Fry, and Nina Lederman serving as executive producers. The miniseries will include eight episodes. Katie Carpenter, Harry Munday, and Michael Eagle-Hodgson are the show’s producers. A new episode of Kaos, to be written by Georgia Christou, is now in the works. It looks like Kaos, starring Jeff Goldblum as a renowned Greek mythological person, will be a lively and thrilling twist on Greek mythology. While Kaos has not yet been completed, it does not have a specific release date.
