New teaser for AMC+’s forthcoming Interview With The Vampire series has been posted on Twitter. This little movie offers us a glimpse of the in-depth interview that went into the making of Interview With the Vampire. This autumn, the show will air on AMC and AMC+.
In a little thirty seconds, the new teaser provides us a taste of what to expect from the programme. After a cityscape tracking shot, the teaser introduces journalist Daniel Molloy, portrayed by Eric Bogosian, who is interviewing Louis de Pointe du Lac, played by Jacob Anderson. He confronts the vampire in the room after taking the time, 10:08 a.m., and the date, June 14, 2022, into consideration.
The camera then shifts to Louis, who stands with his back to the camera and gazes out the room’s wide windows. The sky is hazy and reddish in the early morning. Mr. du Lac, how long have you been deceased, Mr. Du Lac?’ And it’s a good one, too. However, the teaser trailer just adds to the confusion. Because how can Louis stand in the light of a window? The vampire legend in Anne Rice’s long-running vampire books has undoubtedly changed over the years. In addition, the new teaser implies that the legend may change, or at least that Louis will be able to emerge during the day. Even more remarkable is how much of a time change there is from the 1994 picture to virtually the present day in this new series.
One thing doesn’t change, even though the series is set in a different time period than the novel or the 1994 film: Louis’ smoulder. Only a brief look of the disturbed vampire is given in the teaser, but it’s a fascinating one nevertheless. The enormously acclaimed Anne Rice novel serves as the inspiration for the new AMC series. Rice’s first book in the series, The Vampire Chronicles, was published in 1976. AMC is not the only network that has delved into Rice’s vast library of novels. There is also a Mayfair Witches TV series in development, based on her trilogy of books, The Lives of Mayfair Witches. This fall, AMC and AMC+ will air Interview With The Vampire.
