The much-loved character Sylvie, who is portrayed by Sophia DiMartino and will return in the upcoming episode of Loki season 2, was seen in images that were leaked from the set of the programme. The photographs show Sylvie with her signature long blonde hair, which was chopped in this instance to resemble a shag cut popular in the 1970s. The shots were taken in front of a McDonald’s. It would appear that there are Happy Meals available in the multiverse as well given that Sylvie can be seen strolling behind Tom Hiddleston’s Loki while using a straw and a disposable cup.
Twitter users with keen eyes have noticed that her getup bears an uncanny similarity to the uniform that McDonald’s workers wore in the 1970s, and they have pointed this out. DiMartino had previously stated that she wasn’t sure if Sylvie would return after the season 1 finale. In that episode, her character took on He Who Remains and ended up left alone at the Citadel at the End of Time causing a multiversal war. DiMartino had stated that she wasn’t sure if Sylvie would return after that episode.
As the previous season came to a close, Loki was seen to be imprisoned in another dimension, and it was revealed that an even more powerful iteration of He Who Remains had gained control of the TVA. In addition to Hiddleston and DiMartino, the next season will include the return of Owen Wilson in the role of Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw in the role of Ravonna Renslayer, and Eugene Cordero in the role of Casey, also known as Hunter K-5E.
The creators of Moon Knight, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, will be directing this second instalment, while Michael Waldron, who was the lead writer for the first season, will serve as the showrunner. Benson and Moorhead previously helmed that series. There is currently no official release date set for the release of Loki Season 2.
