The sixth season of Black Mirror is now in production, and it will have an all-new cast that is packed with famous faces. Aaron Paul, Kate Mara, Zazie Beetz, Danny Ramirez, Josh Harnett, Paapa Essiedu, Clara Rugaard, Anjana Vasa, and Auden Thornton have been cast in the dystopian anthology series that Charlie Brooker devised for Netflix. According to Variety (opens in new tab), this specific casting will take place over the course of three episodes, and a whole other bunch of performers will soon be added to the list of participants. Anthony Mackie, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Miley Cyrus, and Andrew Scott are just a few of the noteworthy actors that appeared in the first three episodes of the fifth season, which debuted in 2019 and consists of only three total episodes.
Each subsequent episode will be “ever more cinematic in scale,” and will be produced in a manner that is practically identical to that of a standalone motion picture. Paul, who is most known for his main role in Breaking Bad, presently portrays Caleb on HBO’s Westworld, and he most recently appeared in Riley Stearns’ satirical sci-fi thriller Dual opposite Karen Gillan and Jesse Eisenberg. Beetz, who portrays the character Van on the FX series Atlanta, will next be seen in the forthcoming action film Bullet Train, which was directed by David Leitch.
In addition to her role in the critically acclaimed sequel Top Gun: Maverick, Ramirez is set to feature in the upcoming Netflix film Look Both Ways, co-starring opposite Luke Wilson and Riverdale’s Lili Reinhart. Essiedu plays the role of George in the action drama time loop series The Lazarus Project, which airs on Sky TV; Thorton portrays Lucy Damon in the television show This Is Us, which airs on NBC; and Vasan can be seen in “We Are Lady Parts,” which airs on Channel 4 and Peacock. Josh Harnett, a former adolescent idol, has been cast as Ernest Lawrence, a nuclear physicist who won the Nobel Prize, in the upcoming film Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan.
