It’s time to shake off those post-hiatus blues with three new BTS shows on Disney+: Release Date

Get your Army Bombs ready, because the biggest boy band in the world is about to face the biggest entertainment company in the world. As reported by THR, Disney+ has signed up to develop three shows involving the Korean pop sensation BTS for its streaming service. For those who have to get up at all hours of the night to catch a peek at the seven pop singers, this is a welcome development. When BTS debuted in 2011, the group’s members Kim Namjoon (RM), Kim Seokjin (Jin), Min Yoongi (Suga), Jung Hoseok (J-Hope), Park Jimin (V), and Jeong Jungkook caught the music industry by storm.

When it comes to the band, the previous few years have witnessed a significant increase in popularity, thanks to their catchy music and the message of self-love and acceptance that they retain both on and off the stage (ARMY). Concerts were held in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Seoul called BTS Permission to Dance on Stage in the late 2020s and early ’20s. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, they had never performed in front of a crowd.

A 4K concert DVD of one of BTS’s LA performances has been created for Disney+’s debut programme featuring the group, so fans can relive the stunning choreography from the film “Black Swan” or rewatch some of the more dynamic group numbers in the hopes of learning the routines themselves. Second series, In the Soop: Friendcation, is a spin-off of the successful reality series In the Soop, which saw the BTS lads take some time off from city life to stay in a rural house and participate in a variety of activities. V, Park Seo-jun (Itaewon Class), Choi Woo-Shik (Parasite), Park Hyung-Sik (Happiness), and rapper Peakboy will appear in the Disney+ version.

The four-part series will premiere on South Korea’s JTBC on July 22nd, 2022, and appear on Disney+ two hours after that on the same day. Finally, Disney+ will develop BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star, a docuseries that uses the band’s back catalogue of music and historical material to chronicle their journey to fame. The band is presently on sabbatical, but as they have stated many times, they are not breaking up. This tour should be a nostalgic trip for fans.

The series will be unique to Disney+ and launch somewhere in the future, unlike the other two shows that will be available on the service. The streaming company and BTS have just begun their cooperation. BTS’s record label CEO, Park Ji-won, was overjoyed that this signalled the beginning of a cooperation between the worldwide brand and his stable of performers. Jessica Kam-Engle, Disney’s APAC head of programming, remarked on the collaboration: Our worldwide streaming services, including Disney+, are happy that we are working with Hybe to promote their unique entertainment, made with compelling artist IP.

This cooperation reflects our creative aim – to engage with classic content producers and top stars in the Asia Pacific so that their skills may be appreciated by mainstream audiences in many forms. Customers throughout the world are going to love these new releases, and we can’t wait to bring more music to our service.” Due to their recent announcement of a recording sabbatical, this arrangement with Disney+ appears to be the ideal opportunity for BTS fans to keep up with their favourite lads while they’re away.
