Deadline has an exclusive scoop that Vikings actor Travis Fimmel has been cast in the forthcoming mystery-drama series Black Snow. Currently, in development in Australia, the series is being made for Stan, a subscription streaming service. A small-town murder mystery will be the focus of the six-part Black Snow television series, which will air in Australia’s North Queensland region. Neither a coming-of-age narrative nor a murder mystery will be out of place in this series. Isabel Baker, a seventeen-year-old girl killed in Ashford, England, will be the focus of the new miniseries. Isabel’s death, like other murder investigations, will elicit more information about the Islanders who knew her.
New mysteries and secrets will be unearthed when Isabel’s murder in 1995 is revisited in 2020. Detective James Cormack, played by Travis Fimmel, is fired up to crack the case. For his appearance in the History Channel series Vikings, Fimmel is likely most known to the general public. He has also appeared in Warcraft, a cinematic version of the famous multiplayer role-playing game, which was released in 2016. Raised by Wolves, a science fiction drama on HBO Max, also featured him.
Fimmel will be reunited with his native land once more in Black Snow. Along with Brooke Satchwell and Jemmason Power are Talijah Blackman Corowa and Jemmason Power in Black Snow. Islanders and Indigenous peoples in Australia will be the focus of the series. According to a report in Deadline, the show’s creators have indicated that the new season “acknowledges the traditional caretakers of the lands on which the series is being filmed, including the Ngaro Gia and Juru people of the BirraGubba Nation, and the Australian South Sea Islander community.”.
Screen Australia and Stan, an Australian streaming provider, are working together on a number of projects, including Black Snow. An attempt has been made to develop more Australian material that reflects the country’s wide range of voices and opinions. ‘ Screen Queensland, Screen NSW, and AMC Networks’ Sundance Now have all contributed to the project’s funding. International sales for Black Snow will be handled by All3Media International. For those in the United States, the show will be available via Sundance Now. The series has yet to get an official release date.
