Comedic criminal thriller season 2 of The Outlaws is less than a month away from the premiere, and Prime Video finally has a new teaser for the show’s comeback. This time around, they’ve got more time to put into their community service, and they’ve got greater risk. On August 5, Prime Video will make all six episodes of the show accessible for viewing. An introduction by Greg (Stephen Merchant) tells us of how the seven inmates ended up where they are: through small offences and a bag of money that wasn’t theirs to take.
The Dean (Claes Bang), a vicious London drug dealer, has given the gang eight weeks to reclaim the money they stole from him in the first season. Frank (Christopher Walken), whose grandson got the money, is the only one who hasn’t already spent it all. To avoid being killed by The Dean and his thugs, these not-so-hardened criminals are lured back into the criminal underworld by The Dean’s henchmen. This season’s teaser illustrates how far the gang has come since their first excursion despite their very varied origins. Because they’ve been through the worst of the criminal world together previously, the titular outlaws have a strong sense of camaraderie.
As a side note, there’s also a lot more gratuitous video of Frank, who attempts to scare The Dean using his New York mobster character, Al Fastelli, to his advantage in the new footage. In addition to Rhianne Barreto, Gamba Cole, Eleanor Tomlinson, Darren Boyd, Clare Perkins, and Jessica Gunning, the cast of The Outlaws includes Merchant, who previously co-created The Office, and Elgin James, who co-created Mayans M.C., are also involved in the project.
Both Big Talk and Four Eyes oversee the show’s production, with Merchant serving as showrunner and authoring the show. For Big Talk, Luke Alkin, Kenton Allen, and Matthew Justice will serve as executive producers with Merchant. The series was co-produced by BBC One and Amazon Studios, with BBC Studios in charge of worldwide distribution.
The second season of The Outlaws will premiere on Amazon Prime on August 5.
