Our current television renaissance includes Only Murders in the Building, which premiered last year. The Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez-led Hulu comedy immediately became a fan favourite because of the show’s endearing characters, a catchy killer soundtrack, and innovative take on the gore-soaked genre. Having recently debuted its second season at the end of last month, our favourite podcasters who specialise in murder mysteries will be returning for Season 3 of Only Murders. Only Murders is expected to have a large presence during the Emmy nominations announcement on Tuesday.
Despite the fact that Season 2 hasn’t even started yet, murder has no patience for anybody. The first season of Only Murders was Hulu’s most-watched original comedy series, and there’s a solid reason for that. It’s been fun to watch Martin, Short, and Gomez’s characters, Charles, Oliver, and Mabel, as an eccentric trio caught up in a murder mystery in their posh New York apartment complex. The comedy has a terrific mix between its slapstick humour and serious murder shenanigans, and the chemistry between the two leads is absolutely perfect. In Season 1, it distilled the genre down to its essentials while injecting its own unique energy and flair into the proceedings.
There have been several intriguing disclosures regarding the Arconia Board and people like Charles in Season 2, thanks to the fresh mystery surrounding the death of Arconia Board President Bunny Folger. Despite only appearing in 3 episodes so far, the Arconia has already established itself as a fascinating new character in the show. It swiftly turned into a confusing labyrinth of hidden tunnels and tangled webs connecting to the past. Having Mabel, Charles, and Oliver accused of the murder of Bunny is only the latest twist in this season’s plot.
As the suspect list grows, it’s impossible to predict where Season 2 will go, but Hulu understands what it has with this fantastic series. Craig Erwich, president of Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment, announced the following regarding the renewal: Our slate would not be complete without Murders in the Building. Dan, John, Steve, Marty, and Selena’s work has a universal appeal, a unique blend of comedy and heart, and a totally innovative style. Charles, Oliver, and Mabel’s tales continue to captivate viewers who have proven to us time and time again that they want more. As far as new television programmes go, you can’t go wrong with this effervescent, light-hearted murder mystery thriller. In addition to revitalising the genre, it has given television a much-needed breath of new air. Only Murders in the Building’s Season 2 episodes are now available to view on Hulu on Tuesdays. While we wait with bated breath to learn who killed Bunny Folger, it’s nice to know the Only Murders team won’t be done investigating mysteries anytime soon.
